Bio:
Glam metal band from Liberec, Czech Republic, formed in 2010.In 2014 Sleazy RoXxX released their debut album called Dangerous Obsession.
2009/2010 – The band was originally created in Liberec (CZ) by bassist Jan Vandervell, who was forming the band in late 2009 and early 2010 with the singer Lee Glambert as an attempt to form Czech band focused on glam rock. The original line up was completed by Steve St. James (g) and George O’Lingerie (d).
2010 – Sleazy RoXxX bulit up their first fans with the release of their first amateur made demo P2BW and with their first gigs later that year.
2011 –After hardly successful gigs around CZ the band pulled back to Liberec where the cult-scene around Lee Glambert in the club Vlak spontaneously emerged.
2012 – In February was released the EP Spread to Pink achieving interesting success outside CZ. Theband’s music appeared in several compilations and radio shows around the world. Later the band also supported formations like Adam Bomb, Junkyard 69 and Kissin‘ Dynamite in Prague.
2013 – Just after recording drums for the upcoming album George O’Lingerie was forced to interrupt touring with the band in february due to his healthproblems. After that, Sleazy RoXxX had to play gigs with several guest drummers for more than 18 months.
Their debut album Dangerous Obsession was self-released in October 15, 2013. Except some good reviews the lack of marketing and management caused the album was poorly demanded.
2014 – The offer to re-releasethe album in may 2014 worldwide under the City of Lights records came as a bolt from the blue although the band was not especially famous outside or inside of the CZ. After the worldwide release date the band appeared in a number of magazines (RockHard, Classic Rock…), webzines and radio shows around the world. In spite of this, the current line-up was reluctant to play another gigs in the second half of 2014. In summer George O’Lingerie, who was still unable to play, had come to an agreement about not to continue in the band. He was instantly replaced by the latest guest drummer Vinnie Cage. In autumn guitarist Steve St. James was replaced by James Dinner. The band officially moved from Liberec to Prague.
2015 – In the first half of the year the band was touring clubs in the home country as well as in Germany and Poland. In summer the RoXxX parted ways with Lee Glambert. On Oct 30, the band announced their new lead singer, Paulie Weston, and released the single Catch the World as well as the music video on Nov 1. The band also announced their second album for 2016.
Album:
Alright. Without looking at the genre, only the band name, tell me what kind of music Sleazy Roxxx plays. Yep. This is Eighties melodic in the sleaze/glam tradition. I'm sure you noticed the triple X in the band name. It appears Sleazy Roxxx wants to take it one step further calling their hard rock, porn glam. Ergo the song, Porn To Be Wild. I thought that was inherent in the sleaze tradition.Initial observations aside, the Roxxxsters sound like a mash up of Motley Crue with Guns N Rose. Their guitarist, Jan Vandervell, has a mop and guitar like Slash, and plays with a cigarette hanging from his lips. Even his guitar style has some Slash-like similarities. Imitation is the sincerest form ...So, essentially, if you're familiar with Eighties sleaze metal, you've heard this before. And in Europe there seems to be an ongoing ground swell of similar bands, Hardcore Superstar, Crazy Lixx, Party Animals, et al. Fortunately, while derivative, Sleazy Roxxx works the genre quite well, squeezing out some decent music. As they should, besides the sex, drugs, alcohol, porn, chicks lyrical musings, the band knows melody and harmony, rock groove, catchy refrains and hooks, and fiery guitar solos are mandatory. Sometimes it's surprisingly interesting as with the more diverse Live Fast - Die Young or Bastard, the speedy Long Way to Mexico, or the groove monster, the goofy Sex Drugs & Ice Cream. Mostly you can't understand much of what the vocalist is singing, which probably a good thing because he drops more than a few f-bombs. But that's nothing new for the genre.Simply, Sleazy Roxxx understands melodic sleaze hard rock and does it right, even if you've heard it all before. They may even have a leg up on some other European acts that have recently surfaced like Italy's Party Animals and Eyes N Lips.
Line Up:

Jan Vandervell (bass)
George O'Lingerie (drums)
