Was founded in 1980 by Paul “ Shorty” Van Camp (lead guitar + lead vocals) and “Fat Leo” (drums) who had just splitted up their previous band “Mothers of Track”.After a few auditions “Spooky” (bassguitar + lead vocals) joined the band. They decided to stay a powertrio and started working on the songs.Already after 4 months a first record “Ready for Hell” was recorded and released by major company WEA (Warner Bros).After this release Killer knew a very fast evolution and became a well respected and major band allover Europe and even abroad. Killer was managed and adviced by Alfie Falkenbach, Leo Felsenstein and Stonne Holmgren, the guys who later founded “Mausoleum”, one of the first independent Heavy Metal labels.“Killer” was the first Belgian metalband inspired by upcoming success of the NWOBHM bands such as Saxon, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard etc.Due to the trio formula, the rough voices, speedy uptempos, and double bassdrums, Killer was always compared with “Motorhead”. This was rather an honour than an insult.Killer and Motorhead were speedy bands long before the existing of “Metallica”, so in a way we were innovators in the early eighties. Although “Killer” was not punky but always very melodic.

Final studio album by the Belgian heavy metal band Killer, scheduled for release on September 11, 2026, through High Roller Records.Pioneering Belgian heavy metal band Killer was originally formed in 1980 by guitarist and vocalist Paul 'Shorty' Van Camp and drummer 'Fat' Leo (who sadly passed away on February 13, 2026). Prior to that, both musicians had been active in a rock/blues outfit called Mothers Of Track. The classic Killer line-up was completed by guitarist Ivo 'Spooky' Van Doren. Heavily influenced by the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and Motörhead, the trio quickly gained a reputation for it's loud and aggressive heavy/speed metal and, alongside Acid and Crossfire, became one of Belgium's most successful metal bands. After signing with Mausoleum Records, Killer released a string of classic albums in the early 1980s: Ready For Hell (1981), Wall Of Sound (1982) and Shock Waves (1984), before disbanding for the first time in 1987. Several reunions and five more albums followed, the most recent being Hellfire, released on HNE in 2023. The Grand Finale, Killer's very last studio album featuring Van Camp (guitars/vocals), Ian Anthony (bass) and Vanne (drums). According to Van Camp, the album 'is a dedication to Lemmy of Motörhead, who is one of our all-time heroes.'
