Gotthard is a Swiss hard rock/heavy metal band founded in Lugano by Steve Lee and Leo Leoni. Their last eleven albums have all reached number 1 in the Swiss album charts, making them one of the most successful Swiss acts ever.With 2 million albums sold, they managed to get multi-platinum awards in different parts of the world. The band takes its name from the Saint-Gotthard Massif.Singer Steve Lee died in a motorcycle accident on October 5, 2010.On November 11, 2011, Gotthard announced a new singer, Nic Maeder, through their official Facebook page and their website with their new song "Remember It's Me", downloadable for free.In December 2012, Gotthard have concluded the Firebirth Tour, in support of their 10th studio album.Their new disc titled "BANG!", the bands 11th studio release (2nd with Nic Maeder) will be released 4th of April 2014, according to the band's official website.

On March 13, 2026, Gotthard will release the mini-album ”more Stereo Crush”. In connection with the upcoming album, they have now released a single on the song ”Liverpool” in which, among others, singer Marc Storace from Krokus appears.Gotthard released ‘Stereo Crush’ last year and now have a follow on eight-track EP. Five songs are previously unreleased from the ‘Stereo Crush’ sessions, ‘Mayday’ had only been available as a video, and there is a radio edit of the ballad ‘Burning Bridges’.Pick of the bunch is the brand-new duet of ‘Liverpool’ featuring Krokus vocalist Marc Storace, who toured with Gotthard last year. The original version of this song that featured on ‘Stereo Crush’ featured another Krokus mainstay, Chris von Rohr, and he appears again on this updated version. This is the sort of song Gotthard do so well – catchy, melodic hard rock. Nic Maeder and Marc Storace sing up a storm together on this version.‘Smiling In The Pouring Rain’ fits nicely into Gotthard’s ballad canon and ranks amongst their best to date, whilst ‘Snafu’ is a solid rocker. Although ‘Don’t Miss the Call’ best missed…‘Mayday’ is a welcome addition and maybe one for their future live sets with its insistent chorus.‘Stereo Crush’ was a bit hit and miss for this fan, however, this mini album is step back onto the path of Gotthard greatness.Gotthard, still one of the best things to come out of Switzerland along with Toblerone and cuckoo clocks…
