Axel Rudi Pell (born 27 June 1960) is a German heavy metal guitar player and his eponymous band. He started off with the band Steeler (1984–88) before leaving to start his solo career in 1989. During this time, he has played with such drummers as Jörg Michael and Mike Terrana, and singers Jeff Scott Soto and Rob Rock.Axel Rudi Pell's latest album is Into the Storm. It was released on 17 January 2014 in Germany.SPV Records released a live DVD on 25 February 2008, titled Live over Europe, which includes the full performance from the Rock Hard Festival in 2007, and comes with a bonus disc which includes live footage from Pell's own archive.

"Ghost Town" is the new album by the German guitar wizard Axel Rudi Pell. It's his 23rd studio album, and packed with his characteristic guitar riffs, Hard Rock anthems, and a sensational duet starring frontman Johnny Gioeli together with German Metal legend Udo Dirkschneider. Axel Rudi Pell produced the eleven songs on ‘Ghost Town’ himself, with Tommy Geiger (Blind Guardian, Helloween), who was also in charge of the mix, providing valuable engineering support during the recording sessions at the Blind Guardian Studios in Grefrath. You don't need an encyclopaedia or a satnav to enjoy the music of Bochum-based guitarist, composer and band leader Axel Rudi Pell. Because what probably applies to almost all successful musicians also applies to Pell: his songs bear his typical, characteristic signature, a hybrid of powerful guitar riffs and catchy melodies, as well as the foundation of a brilliant band led by American singer Johnny Gioeli, former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli, bassist Volker Krawczak and keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg.And although Pell has been thrilling his fans with this significant mix for well over 35 (!) years, his albums always contain sophisticated surprises or remarkable collaborations. His current studio album, ‘Ghost Town’, is no exception: Axel Rudi Pell adds another eleven exhibits to the long list of great songs in his career.
