AOR/Retrowave melodic band from Florence, Italy.There’s many talented artists from what is called ‘synthwave movement‘ which brings back the ’80s culture not only musically, but also lyrically and via visual imagery. Italy’s LAZER CLUB is one of our favorites and we already featured their previous albums.I must say that Lazer Club, an Italian group whose superb previous album Criminal Nights, released in 2023, I had praised, also gives pride of place to the magnificent saxophone. A year after Criminal Night, A Summer Story was released, which is even better than its predecessor. I loved this album too, and it's in my top 2024, where things are starting to get seriously crowded. I think that if I knew the Italians, I would be friends with them, because the music they make is exactly what I'm looking for. Their music, imbued with a certain nostalgia, reminds us of all the music of the 80s with guys like Harold Faltermeyer and Giorgio Moroder, series like Miami Vice with a hushed, sunny, almost erotic atmosphere, with the saxophone in the foreground and breathtaking melodies. All of this is wrapped up in a titanium production. Lazer Club had the good idea of calling on big names in the synthwave movement such as Ultraboss, Magic Dance, and Kid Burn.

Incredibly underrated act. Great songwriting and authentic production that goes beyond the tropes of modern synthwave. Been listening to them a lot over the past couple of years so was finally time to buy something.Album released February 4, 2026.
