Gabrielle de Val - Time To Die (EP) (2026)

Year : 2026
Style : Melodic Hard Rock , Female Vocals
Country : Spain
Audio : 320 kbps + front
Size : 43 mb
Bio:
Gabrielle de Val started to get involved in the rock scene when she created the band Yin-Yang (1987), which would later be called D'Val, together with several musicians who suggested to her to take part in the 'Villa de Madrid' contest, the most relevant of the Spanish music scene for decades. To the band's surprise, they ranked second in the final, achieving great media coverage, as well as financial aid that they invested in upgrading their equipment and the recording of a vinyl single, which would be distributed nationally.Gabrielle composed, wrote lyrics, sang, did interviews...and that's how she turned music into her life. The band recorded several demos that today are part of the treasure trove for the nostalgic Spanish rock lovers. After that, the band remained inactive for almost 20 years! Until in 2010 Alfonso Samos, David Erick, Alex Morell and Gabrielle reappeared - to everyone's surprise - under the name of The Val and recorded, at last, their debut album "Back". And as Gabrielle says: “Good things sometimes come to those who wait...a long wait!” But the world had changed and borders had disappeared for music thanks to social networks and the countless possibilities they offered to go one step further; and that's how an album that had been conceived to close a stage of the past became the key to open a new and fascinating future. The album was widely distributed and supported by important media such as Classic Rock and Fireworks, which made possible the recording of a second album, "Heading For The Surface" (2015) and a third one, "King Ocelot" (2020), all of them with extraordinary reviews from the specialized media. With The Val, Gabrielle gave major concerts, participated in festivals, toured England and had the opportunity to sing live alongside big names in international rock such as David Saylor and Robert Tepper (Rockingham Fest, 2015) as well as with Spanish artists, such as Rafa Martín, José Carlos Molina and Miguel Oñate.
Album:
‘Blade Runner’ is surely one of the most iconic movies of the early 80s, if not of all time to date. While not a financial success on release, the movie found its audience later on VHS and then DVD, and is now rightly regarded as an absolute classic. While much of the movie’s success can be laid at the feet of director Ridley Scott and his amazing futuristic noir look, alongside Harrison Ford’s laconic portrayal of Deckard, one of the truly memorable characters from this 1882 movie is surely Rutger Hauer’s portrayal of Roy Batty, a replicant combat model whose deep desire for life beyond his programmed 4 years was the main crux of the whole movie. His monologue at the end of the movie is rightly regarded as one of the best speeches in movie history, and in an amazing instance of kismet, this speech, word for word, is repeated in the chorus of ‘Time To Die’.Melodic Hard Rock and Hard SF Noir fuse together to form an absolutely awesome tribute to the memory of Rutger Hauer/Roy Batty, one of the genre’s most mis-understood and sympathetic ‘villains’.Mixed and mastered by Tommy Denander, the song is from the upcoming album ‘REVOLUTION’ by Gabrielle de Val, a release which sees the German/Spanish chanteuse exceed even the wonderfully received ‘I Am the Hammer’The EP also sees a further three unreleased tracks: the modern AOR bombast of ‘Shine’ by Tommy Denander and the beautifully poignant ‘The Jig-Saw Man’ by De Va/Mee. Both tracks were removed from ‘I Am, The Hammer’ at the last minute. The final track is the original version of ‘Hold On’, a duet with Seven’s Mick Devine. This track was totally re-arranged by Boston’s Gary Pihl, who featured on guitar in the final version on ‘Kiss In A Dragon Night’. The original version is a much more sedate and beautiful recording. With at least two albums coming out next year (‘Revolution’ and Escape’s ‘Cry Wolf’), 2026 is certainly looking at being ‘The Year of de Val’ !!! This CD is released as ltd. edition of 500 copies only which are available from shop.prideandjoy.de and directly from the artist, and on all digital platforms.Date of release is 6 February 2026.
