Jonas Lindberg & The Other Side is a Progressive rock project from Stockholm, Sweden founded in 2012 by bassplayer, songwriter and producer Jonas Lindberg.It all started back in 2008 when the EP "IN SECRET PACE" was recorded by Jonas as an exam-project at the college of Music in Piteå, Sweden. The first recordings featured a large lineup of musicians and was originally intended to work as a demo for an upcoming band. But as term ended Jonas moved to Stockholm to pursue a career as a freelance musician and the idea got put on hold. In 2012 "IN SECRET PACE" was finally released on digital platforms as Jonas started to work on new material.This time the lineup featured a 5 piece band and the second EP "THE OTHER SIDE" was finished and released in 2013. The project was named "JONAS LINDBERG & THE OTHER SIDE" from the title track of the album after its release. Playing on the album is Jonas LINDBERG on bass, backing vocals, keyboards and guitars together with Jonas SUNDQVIST (lead vocals), Jonathan LUNDBERG (drums), Calle STÅLENBRING (guitars) and Michael OTTOSSON (keyboards). Two more musicians, Nicklas THELIN (guitar) and Jenny SANDGREN (vocal) later joined for the live shows.Following the enthusiastic reception of the 2016 album "PATHFINDER", Jonas began working on another full length album in 2019. The album - called "MILES FROM NOWHERE" - is more of a solo effort than the previous album with Jonas playing most of the instruments himself, and also features a few more guest musicians. Returning on a few tracks is Simon WILHELMSSON (drums) who some may remember from the first EP, as well as Jonas's brother Joel on lead guitar. Missing is Michael OTTOSSON who sadly passed away in 2020, leading up to Jonas taking on full keyboard duties.

Swedish progressive rock-outfit Jonas Lindberg & The Other Side announce the upcoming release of their long awaited new studio album Time Frames.Time Frames is due to come out almost four years after the critically acclaimed Miles From Nowhere, which garnered widespread praise and was the pick for Breakthrough of the Year at the 2022 Prog Report Awards.Jonas Lindberg has this to say about the long(ish) wait – circumstances regarding which are reflected in the album title:”Time Frames is referring to the album being made through lots of mini deadlines. Sort of like, the guitars were recorded during this time frame and the mixes had to be finished within that time frame. The last album was made during the pandemic when we all had a lot of time on our hands, this time around it had to be done while juggling all these other things too”, says Jonas Lindberg.The record sees Lindberg once again handling many of the instruments and vocals himself, albeit with notable contributions from returning members Jonas Sundqvist (vocals), Jenny Storm (vocals), Calle Stålenbring (guitars), Nicklas Thelin (guitars), Jonathan Lundberg (drums), Maria Olsson (percussion) and Joel Lindberg (guitars).”On this one I decided from the beginning of the sessions to play most of the instruments on the backing tracks myself. The idea was: If I can play it, I will play it. But I left a lot of stuff that I knew the others would do a lot better than me and gave it to them (haha)”, Lindberg comments.”That's the beauty of having other people involved in the music, it just sounds better and more alive. They come up with stuff that I would never have thought of!”The new album dives head-first into that unmistakable ”Other Side”-sound. Mini-epic ”End Of The Road” paves the way for six other tracks which together makes for quite the progressive voyage. The anthemic ”Faces Of Stone” and exhilarating instrumental ”Gruvan” have been selected as singles ahead of the album's release. The first one being released on September 12 followed by the other on October 10.”Since the last album I've become a father for the first time. A lot of the inspiration for this album is drawn from that”, says Lindberg.
