The Rise - In spring 2021, when the entire music and culture industry was forced to shut down and put on hold, Ad-Rian's phone rang.On the other end of the line was none other than drummer Thomas Wild, who, together with bassist Mauro Zompicchiatti, had been the rhythm section of Polo Hofer's Schmetterband for over 20 years. The two Swiss musical heavyweights (who have been performing together on stage as a team with an incredible 43 years of experience) teamed up with Berni Weber from Zug, a piano and keyboard virtuoso, to form a “trio in search of a singer and a new project.”They met, discussed things, and got down to business without further ado. In their newly furnished rehearsal room in Cham, the four seasoned exceptional talents set about working through Ad-Rian's song catalog, which spans several decades. In May 2022, Ad-Rian's latest album, “Out of the Ashes,” was released, with the musicians also contributing to its creation.At that point, the four musicians were still searching for the perfect guitarist, and they finally found him in Chris Stalder, who has since complemented the newly formed band “Ad-Rian & The Rise” with his outstanding guitar sounds.Ad-Rian's musical language can be described as the language of vastness, which is strongly influenced by the band The Rise, especially when performing live. The understanding of atmospheric sounds that Berni Weber and Chris Stalder bring to the band is paired with clear, musical statements that impress with their presence. Thomas Wild and Mauro Zompicchiatti provide a solid rhythmic foundation with their more than four decades of experience.
Ad-Rian - is Adrian Sturzenegger, born in Zurich in 1969, raised in Switzerland and the USA, where he studied music and singing at the Musicians Institute in LA in the late 1980s. Ad-Rian is a songwriter, singer, musician, and music producer. He lives and works in Switzerland and France.Music follows the changing times, and time changes music. Composing songs has always had something unorthodox and magical about it. Music is memory and future at the same time.But music is also about the present.Right now, he's focused on the songs that are on his new album, “Ad-Rian – Under One Sky.”Ad-Rian's musical language can be described as the language of vastness. It immerses the listener in worlds of longing and optimism. It does not follow any specific trend, but is characterized by a very unique sound that is unmistakable thanks to his charismatic voice. Ad-Rian's roots lie in rock music, which over the years has increasingly merged with atmospheric sounds.For many years, he has been working with and on his own music, and also in the background for other artists. He has followed an unusual path throughout his life. And he is still following it.
