Bio:

US band called Flood featuring Tommy Lee Flood of Banshee.Captivating, Powerful, and Emotionally Charged are just a few of the words used to describe Tommy Lee Flood's voice. To hear him sing, is to hear one of the great vocal talents in music today. Tommy is a true entertainer, which is why it's no surprise he has been voted by Bonzai Magazines readers poll "Best Front Man" for seven consecutive years. He is also featured in a number of other magazines such as: Hit Parader, Metal Edge, and the Hard Report just to mention a few. An MTV video performance with Tommy aired for six months and reached the hard 30 ranking. Tommy's song writing ability is as dynamic and unique as his singing voice. He has recorded tracks for Atlantic Records and Metal Blade, as well as many other labels and artists. An unbreakable spirit and dedication to his music are two reasons why Tommy's charismatic personality has been greeted with enthusiasm by the music industry. On stage is where Tommy shines the most. He consistently delivers a performance that you will never forget.

Banshee is a metal band that was formed in 1986 in the American Midwest. Although they shared the image and sound with the glam/metal scene of the 80s, their music fully shares the elements of melodic power metal: catchy guitar riffs, eclectic drums and bass, powerful guitar solos, and intense vocals.Banshee, a melodic power metal band from the Midwest, was formed in the spring of 1986. Made up of members from the popular Mid-West touring act LICK (Tommy Lee & Chuck Hopkins), Terry Dunn of Kansas City-based FRODO, GRANMAX, and Kent Burnham from Kansas City-based CRYPT KEEPER. By the fall of 1986, they released their first EP entitled Cry in the Night. Hopkins left shortly thereafter to pursue other projects in L.A. and was replaced by local Kansas City bassist Bill Westfall. In 1988, Metal Blade Records re-released Cry In The Night and included the song "We Want You" on a compilation record, Metal Massacre No. 9.Later that year, the band released their first full-length album, Race Against Time, on Atlantic Records' Titanium label, although their relationship was brief. In 1992, the band self-released their second full-length album, Take 'Em By Storm, with members separating shortly thereafter.Reunion shows were played in 1999, 2000, and later in 2008. In 2008, a deal was negotiated with BlastZone Entertainment Group to provide worldwide distribution for a digitally remastered Take 'Em By Storm and saw distribution reach on Amazon.com, iTunes, and Wal-Mart, with the re-release of the other albums following. In 2012, the band released their fourth studio album Mindslave on Snowblind Records. The album featured vocalist George Call (ASKA, Violent Storm, Omen), original bassist Chuck Hopkins, and drummer Marty Schiermann. In June 2012 in preparation for the upcoming tour, Hopkins and Schiermann were both unable to tour with the band and Mika Horiuchi (ex-Falling In Reverse and Celador) from Los Angeles, California stepped up on bass, while Vinnie E. Parma from Dallas, Texas took the role of drums. In 2014, Bill Westfall returned as the band begins work on the follow up to Mindslave.Paul Berrian joined as their new drummer in late 2014.In 2015, Bill Westfall left Banshee to concentrate on Kansas City metal band, Death By Diesel.

Album:

Here’s in exclusive the just released Heaven And Hell Records remaster of “Flood“, the music from former BANSHEE enigmatic vocalist & frontman TOMMY LEE FLOOD recorded after the departure from the band in 1994.These were hard times for musicians faithful to classic hard rock sounds. “I assembled a band with virtuoso guitarist and famous amplifier designer Lee Jackson, and we wanted to go for something very fresh. Grunge had taken over the music scene and we didn’t want to be grunge or associated with a time stamp or genre” – says Tommy – “Although Lee and I wrote most of the music before the other players were in place, we wrote additional songs after, all together, which allowed everyone to put their touch on the project.”Due to the inability to find a label, the “Flood” album would be self-released in 2000, with limited distribution and visibility. Tommy continues; “No one was signing bands at the time. Marketing on the internet was not a big thing. So, between no labels signing true Rock acts and not having distribution abilities, it made it hard to get the music out. The stigmatism of being an ’80s rocker in the face of grunge and alternative made it even more difficult to bend anyone’s ear to listen to these songs.”Now “Flood” is getting a proper release and let us tell you this is avery, very interesting album, varied, with clever arrangements reminiscent of SAIGON KICK, sure to please fans of CRIMSON GLORY introspective moments, KING’S X, BANSHEE, etc. After some line up changers and seeing they had something special, Flood and Jackson continued the project and sought a permanent band in 1995. Former BANSHEE drummer Kent Burnham and bassist / keyboardist Jim Langin were brought on board. Guitarist Hans Brawner from North Carolina would complete the lineup for the band that was named PRIMAL ORDER. In 1995, the band self-released its 14-song debut album “Animal”. The following year, Chum Bucket Records released the album “Meat,” which comprised most of the previous songs featured in “Animal”.Not long after the release of ”Meat,” Jackson had to exit the band to focus on priorities with his company to attend to. The group tried to continue as a 4-piece. However, it became evident that the band no longer sounded the same without Jackson. PRIMAL ORDER decided to part ways and remain friends. While everyone was still communicating, Flood would call the guys back into the studio to record ten new tracks, including a cover of THE BEATLES “The Walrus’. In addition to these songs, Flood added four songs from the PRIMAL ORDER recordings to create the TOMMY LEE FLOOD “Flood” album. The only way to obtain the album back in 2000’s was directly from Tommy through his website. Those who were lucky enough to hear the album raved about it. The album would show a singer/songwriter and artist who had matured like a fine wine as he had flowed through two decades. The band he assembled and the additional musicians helped to create a record that not only echoed TOMMY LEE FLOOD’s past while foretelling that the best was indeed yet to come.“It garnished me the independent rock album of the year at the L.A. Music Awards.” ends Tommy Lee Flood.A really good, different album, well recorded and produced, with skilled musicians participating. Some time ago Tommy Lee Flood put himself the album on streaming platforms, but the sound quality of this remastered version is far superior, clearer and punchier.
