For over a decade now, Abbygail have been passionately nurturing the flame of true, pure hard rock, as conceived by the Young brothers and Michael Schenker. Far from dampening their ardour, the confinement and the health crisis have enabled them to work and prepare their third album, Still Burning..officially scheduled for release in November 2021. In a slightly ironic twist, the title means that the AbbyBoys are still ‘Alive’ and ready for battle. Fans of AC/DC, UFO, Rainbow, MSG, you know what you have to do... After a very promising ‘Electric Lady’, released in 2017, and a very convincing ‘Gun Control’, released 6 years ago, the northerners of Abbygail are back, more motivated than ever, with this eagerly awaited 3rd album, ‘Still Burning ..in 2021. The band, who have become an essential reference point in the Hauts de France region, have now released their latest offering, ‘Escape From Reality’. Simple, but not simplistic, AbbyBoys' music is straight to the point and cuts to the heart of the matter. Unlike their previous albums, there are no blues or ballads, just 11 blistering songs worth their weight in peanuts. Serious subjects (The Day Everything Changed, Clockwork Orange Society), others more ‘light-hearted’ (Lady Of The Night, Serial Lover), Abbygail challenges the listener, leaving them to make their own interpretation. Memory Lane surprises with its ‘Stonian’ audacity and John Entwistle-style bass line, as do the Mr Crowley-style keyboards on The Prince Of Darkness, a track celebrating the Godfather Ozzy Osbourne. The production is just right, too, and the result is a highly recommendable record. And then, as has become customary, there's that little extra, that little gimmick that puts the icing on the cake. A track from Live: The Blank Page And The Pen. Because now you can say it with them: ‘We are Abbygail, and we play Rock'n'roll! A band of friends, a band of enthusiasts, who put the band before the individual. It's safe to say that Abbygail have understood everything there is to know about rock'n'roll.
