Karmakanic are a progressive rock / metal group founded in Malmö, Sweden in 2002 by bassist and keyboardist Jonas Reingold.Their music is marked by sharp dynamic contrasts, sudden full stops, complex timing and meter changes, abstract lyrics, and long periods of instrumentation. Karmakanic are similar sounding and often compared to classical progressive and symphonic rock bands including Yes, Genesis, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, but also combine this sound (albeit more gently) with the synthesizers and distortion more common of modern progressive rock and metal bands such as Ayreon, Dream Theater, Symphony X, and The Flower Kings.Karmakanic is currently signed to Inside Out Records.

Transmutation is a music studio album recording by KARMAKANIC (Symphonic JONAS REINGOLD is delighted to announce the release of TRANSMUTATION, the sixth studio album from his critically acclaimed solo project KARMAKANIC. Feat. Simon Phillips, Steve Hackett, John Mitchell. Jonas Reingold He believes Transmutation marks his boldest artistic vision yet and is an album which pushes progressive rock to both new heights and new fans. Progressive rock in its finest. Reingold has recruited an impressive array of world class musicians to realise his vision for Karmakanic; not least of which is his long time friend and musical companion Steve Hackett (Genesis), who guests throughout the album, providing some breathtaking guitar - as only he can. Drum legends Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, Judas Priest), Nick D'Virgilio (Big Big Train, Spock's Beard, Mr Big) and Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett, Frost) supply a rhythm section nothing short of extraordinary. For the first time, Reingold teams up with vocalist John Mitchell (Asia, Lonely Robot, Frost, Arena) whose gritty and soulful voice provides the perfect complement to Reingold's melodic compositions. Marking their first collaboration since The Fringe 2016, Randy McStine delivers lead guitar firepower. Reingold says: I have to pinch my arm thinking who's actually on the album. All heroes of mine and I'm truly humble and thankful that they have given me a part of their talent to shape this album. It's truly a joint venture. I sometimes joke that Karmakanic is the equivalent to prog what Barcelona FC is to football. Only the best players onboard. Recorded across Nashville, Los Angeles, Germany, and Austria, the production captures every nuance for a breathtaking sonic experience, carefully mixed by 5x Grammy award winning mix engineer Chris Lord Alge (Rolling Stones, Muse, Tina Turner, Prince) in his Los Angeles based studio MIX LA."
