Bio:
Dellacoma features in their ranks Rick Reynolds on bass, Art Struck on guitar, Matt Cook on drums, Dellacoma Rio on vocals. The group recently trekked through the US on their debut tour, which saw the quartet hit 80 venues in just about as many days. While itinerant and swash-buckling, Dellacoma also managed to record their debut album. Produced by Chris Smith (Jet, The Darkness, Scorpion Child), the band’s first full-length is a rock dream, recorded as analog as humanly possible to get that ’70s feel without being subservient to the big-time productions of the era.
Album:
Raw, honest, explosive. These are words often used to describe DELLACOMA, a brash and hard hitting Australian rock n’ roll band with a stage show that is both frenetic and passionate.Formed in mid-2014 from the ashes of different musical pursuits, lead vocalist and namesake, Dellacoma Rio assembled a team of high voltage road warriors to bring his rock n’ roll vision to the stage. Hitting the road almost immediately the band has now amassed over 400 shows across the USA, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. With many miles beneath their feet and a wealth of experience in the live arena, it is no surprise that playing live is their strong suit.So far they have played countless clubs, bars and venues as well as sharing larger stages with the likes of Def Leppard, Linkin Park, Skid Row, Styx, Tesla, Black Label Society, Buckcherry, Winger, to name a few.Today we are featuring in exclusive at 0dayrox DELLACOMA’s new album released last December, “Searching For You In The Darkness“, in its limited Deluxe Edition CD. The digital version of the album delivers 7 songs only, the standard CD version 10 tracks, but this ”Searching For You In The Darkness [Deluxe Edition +7]” packs seven extra cuts! And exclusive cover art.High expectations are a dangerous drug. Take too much and you hallucinate greatness where none exists; take too little and you miss the moment entirely. ”Searching For You In The Darkness” arrives with a buzz already crackling through the wires, and DELLACOMA don’t blink. They grab the voltage with bare hands and channel it straight into the speakers, delivering an album that doesn’t just announce their arrival — it doesn’t even demand your attention. it earns it. This album is inescapable. After a first listen I just sat and thought “Man, they must know how good this album is, they must know they are sitting on a firecracker.” And after one spin you will know that there is nothing at all in this whole world like Rock and Roll. This is the sound of a band that has done the miles. DELLACOMA’s journey hasn’t been handed to them on a velvet platter — it’s been earned in sweat-soaked rooms, endless highways and hard lessons learned the long way around. At the centre stands Dellacoma Rio, a frontman who sings like someone who’s stared into the abyss, argued with it, and come back with something worth shouting about. His voice here is commanding, urgent and emotionally loaded — the voice of an artist who knows exactly what’s at stake, someone who knows the importance of music and never gives less than 100%.From the opening salvo of ‘More Than Survival,’ the album has an electricity that flows and surges, sometimes smooth, sometimes all bright lights, but always on the edge, always dangerous. This isn’t background music; nor is it a big jump in with both feet: it’s wonderfully constructed, a song set in the bedrock of a huge groove. But it’s also deceptively delicate with a verse that melds a vintage Soundgarden meets Alice in Chains vibe with searching guitar underlining it all. It’s an album where big riffs collide with towering choruses, built for packed rooms and clenched fists. But it’s also an album with plenty of emotion, a deep patches of dark and shade. It’s moody, contemplative and beautifully drawn together. “Heroes” swings hard at the illusion of salvation, flipping the idea of idols on its head with a hook that refuses to let go. It’s an anthem with teeth, sharp enough to draw blood if you’re not paying attention. You’ll already love that one of course…The singles don’t merely tease — they detonate. ‘I Got You’ strips things back just enough to let the emotion cut through, a song about loyalty and connection that lands with genuine weight rather than empty sentiment. ‘More Than Survival’ pulses with defiance, its message clear: this band isn’t here to scrape by — they’re her to matter. These tracks don’t float above the album; they’re welded into its spine.Dig deeper and the album reveals its darker corners. ‘Paradigms’ flows and swells with restless growing energy, challenging complacency both musically and lyrically, while ‘Spare Change’ feels light a twilight song that could go either into light or darkness, it hints of a frustration with a gentle nod that feels ripped straight from lived experience, but holds onto memories and moments that you just know will push you into the light as it grasps at the duality of ‘change’.‘(Stay) By My Side’ offers a rare moment of exposed honesty and trust — before ‘Begin Again’ delivers its a stark beauty, stripped back and beautiful. The bunch of extra tracks on this deluxe edition elevates the album to another dimension. ‘Never Say Die’ is adynamic midpaced modern rocker, with cool atmospheres.‘Lay Down Your Words’ a one of our favorites, a kicj ass hard rocker driven by stinging guitars and tons of groove. Next, ‘Atlantis’ shifts the mood completely with calmer verses, but then the songs explodes in the catchy chorus. ‘The Ground Beneath’ is piano-ballad with nice harmony vocals and cool electric guitar work.Another highlight from the CD only tracks comes with ‘Leave a Light On’, featuring Dellacoma Rio in a surprisingly vocal duo with American jazz singer Cassandra Wilson. The results are fantastic in this early-90s Guns N’ Roses style midtempo song. What elevates Searching For You In The Darkness is its cohesion. This isn’t a playlist masquerading as an album — it’s a full-throttle journey, sequenced with intent and conviction. Every track feeds the next, building a sense of momentum that mirrors the band’s own trajectory. There’s no filler, no apology, no second-guessing. Just belief.DELLACOMA have delivered a record that feels alive, dangerous and necessary. ”Searching For You In The Darkness” captures a band operating at full burn — emotionally charged, musically fearless and absolutely certain of their direction. It’s loud, honest and unflinchingly human. In a year already crowded with strong rock releases, this one stands apart — not quietly, but roaring. Make no mistake: this is a serious ‘Album of the Year’ contender, and a line in the sand for Australian hard rock in 2025.
