Album:
”Testimony” is the new album by talented French rocker BOB SALIBA, a versatile musician who is hugely active in Hard Rock and Prog Metal circles in Europe. Melodic metallers KingCrown remains his main ‘day job’, but he’s a contributor to a whole bunch of other projects both as a performer, composer or producer.Despite the IA generated cover art, ”Testimony” is an album with tons of human emotions. And some awesome flesh & blood players: Saliba handles lead vocals & guitars, and on the expressive drumming throughout we hear monster John Macaluso (TNT, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ark, Jorn) performing on all tracks. Saliba’s band mate on various projects virtuoso Bruno Pradels play bass.Musically the album is a Light Progressive / Melodic Hard Rock piece, and melds the styles seamlessly with profound lyrics. And when we said above this work comes with tons of human emotions is because here Saliba no longer hides behind metaphors: he tells stories, he reveals, he confides. The title ” Testimony” itself carries the full emotional weight of the album. Bob tackles sensitive themes, including psychological violence and family wounds, with rare sincerity. Far from complaining or settling scores, he offers themes that are more about resilience, delivering a message that is not just heard: it is felt. This bold and sometimes risky artistic choice gives the album an unusual density in the current rock / metal landscape. Musically, ”Testimony” lives up to its themes. The production, executed with remarkable attention to detail, provides an ideal playground for the musicians. Macaluso’s precise and expressive drumming brings a spectacular rhythmic depth.Bob is first and foremost an incredibly accomplished musician, and one of those people who seems to be able to play any instrument he is handed, but since his background is also as an engineer in biotechnology, this really does fuse both sides of his life. The album also benefits from vocal and instrumental contributions that enrich the whole thing without ever betraying the artistic direction. The sonic aesthetic navigates between melodic hard rock, progressive coloring, and a keen sense of atmosphere, often cinematic.Testimony’s greatest strength lies in the emotion it conveys. Bob Saliba dares to speak, dares to show, dares to feel. And this honesty, far from being burdensome, gives the music a profound human dimension. And all wrapped by dynamic, pretty awesome arrangements and performances. The influences intersect and intertwine, but never scatter. The artist manages to create a solid stylistic coherence, supported by well-crafted riffs, subtle harmonies, and a fully committed vocal performance. With ”Testimony”, Bob Saliba delivers a bold, sincere and profoundly human album. A work that demonstrates a rare artistic maturity and confirms his place among the most sensitive and complete musicians on the contemporary Euro Rock scene.Between instrumental power and assumed fragility, the album imposes an obvious truth: sometimes, music is the only language vast enough to contain a life.
