Bio:
Created by Mads Noye and Chris Catton as a creative outlet for all the music deemed to be too synthwave-inspired for their other projects, the Sun City powerhouse has grown in volume at an impressive rate.Drawing heavy inspiration from the 80s synthesizer scene, Sun City has managed to connect with a substantial online audience who yearn for the nostalgic sounds of Juno synthesizers and LinnDrums.Since launching the project in August 2023, Sun City has garnered more than 400,000 followers on Instagram and over 150,000 followers on TikTok, as well as over 100K monthly listeners on Spotify. The group’s synthwave vibes seem to make a lasting impression on the constantly growing 80’s nostalgia subculture which is present online. The trio consists of keyboardist and composer Mads Noyé; singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Chris Catton; and saxophonist/pianist Jonas Klintström Larsen, whose smooth and sensual saxophone sound fans can’t seem to get enough of. The three musicians, who possess an uncanny knack for everything 80’s, first collaborated as members of the upcoming Danish AOR group Boys From Heaven, and since founding Sun City as a creative outlet for their growing catalogue of arena pop/rock — driven by their love for synthwave and everything 80’s inspired — interest for the project has grown exponentially. Since the release of their debut single in July 2024, the production furnaces have been on full blaze, and the group has released eight singles in the span of less than a year, including collaborations with Toto drummer Shannon Forrest (featured on “This Time”), as well as fellow nostalgic heavyweights Izzy Perri (co-writer and co-lead vocals for “On My Mind”) and Sleepless-Nights AKA Jonathan Adams (featured on “Into the Night”).
Album:
After releasing a number of singles during the year, the project Sun City with the trio Chris Cotton (vocals), Mads Noyé (keyboards) and Jonas Klintström Larsen (Saxophone) releases the debut album "Forever". We also recognize these three men from the band Boys From Heaven. We follow up the success of our second single with a full 80’s power-montage, with this Synthwave theme song. It captures the feeling of high spirits, energy and happiness, with just the right amount of nostalgia to really hit the listener, fit for any playlists containing the words; training, montage or soundtrack.
