Heavy / Power Metal band from Kaiserslautern formed in 1991.Not to be confused with Warchild X (Melodic Death/Black Metal from Saarbrücken, Saarland).The guys play melodic heavy/power metal, and the band consists of Henry Kubon (guitar), Markus Roth (vocals), Christian Benz (guitar), Andreas Schmitt (drums), Dean Benz (bass), and Marco Dietrich (keyboards).With This World Ends in Chaos, Warchild is releasing its third album, which also features two guest musicians, K.K. Basement and Tillmann Ruby, who contribute their skills on bass and guitar to Of Love and Pain.

The Kaiserslautern veterans WARCHILD have been rocking the local club scene since 1991. I've been lucky enough to attend several of their shows, which were always very entertaining. WARCHILD are now presenting their third album, and what stands out is the professional sound of the CD compared to its predecessors. Original singer Markus “Boxer” Roth is back, and with his raspy voice, it's back to the roots.It's still melodic, Teutonic power metal with relatively catchy songs. Not complicated, no frills, just to the point. The opener “The Fear” immediately captivates with awesome old-school riffs and a strong chorus. ‘Warchild’ will make your neck hurt from headbanging and is quite simple but effective. The guys also impress with the title track and the ballads “Of Love And Pain” and “Nothing Is Forever,” and the closing track “Die Alone” is also enjoyable. The rest isn't bad, but I often feel like it's missing that certain something. The keyboards often take some getting used to, even though they're kept discreetly in the background.Conclusion: A good album that's far from perfect, but definitely has its moments. The fun factor outweighs everything else, and that's what ultimately matters.
