5th album by this excellent US band of powerful and melodic Heavy Metal with really catchy songs.US band Ninth Circle are out with the album "Anthem of the Immortal", and metal is the style explored on this production. And this is a case of good, old fashioned metal too, one of those albums that sounds like it could have been recorded sometime around 1985. The riff passages are either flowing or vibrant, depending on the orientation of the song, and the melodic lead vocals and vocal harmonies are used to emphasize the melodic impact of the compositions an an efficient manner here. With a vocalist willing and capable to execute melodic and controlled wails of the kind that was a staple in 80s heavy metal. Flowing and captivating varieties of steady going traditional heavy metal and slower paced and more majestic incarnations of the same represent part of the landscape explored here, while the faster paced and more energetic ventures at hand are more in line with old school power metal and then the variety of that form that was explored stateside back in the day. This is a steady going and melodic creation explored and executed without any additional frills, a slice of good, old fashioned metal music of the kind that was very commonplace in the metal universe some four decades ago.
