Bio:

Formed in 1987 in Orlando, FL and moved to Hollywood, CA. In 1988 before calling it quits in 1991.The band kicked and clawed their way around the Strip scene packing the usual hotspots such as The Whisky (a favorite of theirs), Gazzarris, The Roxy, and The Troubadour, while frequently playing with rival bands such as Taz, Scratch, Liquor Sweet, Blackboard Jungle, Funhouse, as well as Bang Tango and Love/Hate, who, of course, went onto significant label success. Along with that healthy competition, LYSWITCH also had plenty of press from L.A. rags like BAM, Rock City News, and Screamer, as well as even getting coveted airplay on the legendary KNAC Pure Rock 105.5FM with their first single “Rattlesnake Skin” in late 1989 and 1990.Along the way, they also took part in the L.A. band traditions of posting flyers, making phone calls to people on their mailing list, and even sending newsletters to people who listed themselves in the pen pal section of Metal Edge Magazine. It was an idea that helped the band spread their name all over the country and even internationally! If you missed “Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebels & the Sunset Strip”, check it out when you pick up your copy of LYPSWITCH “World of Sin." Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebels & the Sunset Strip were the final wave of Sunset Strip bands, the most competitive market for rock ‘n’ roll that had ever existed.During this era (1980s/Early 90s), the Sunset Strip had become a living, breathing entity of extreme depth and breadth of musicality, self-indulgence, and living in the intrepidly fast and dangerous lane.

Album:

LYPSWITCH has recently unveiled its second single, 'Out Of Control,' accompanied by a music video. This new release is a must-have for hard rock and sleaze metal enthusiasts. By pairing its signature sound with thought-provoking lyrics, LYPSWITCH has created a distinctive and memorable experience for its listeners. This is the second of three new songs written for release as part of a 17-song collection and 20-page booklet. The collection has been remastered by Anthony Focx, who has previously worked with Ace Frehley, Aerosmith, and Foreigner.Danny Whaley, vocalist for LYPSWITCH, says, “In life and in flying when we get in a situation, we tend to do the opposite of what we should do to save ourselves. Pulling up to get higher will cause a plane to stall. We should push down, which is everything we don’t want to do physically. When we drink or do drugs. We don’t want to stop… it’s only better with more. Obviously, we know that logic leads to addiction, the hospital, jail, or death. Out of control is our own doing. We can get ourselves into any situation, no problem. Wisdom (applied knowledge) helps us turn the corner. Or it’s us hitting rock bottom, surviving, and reminding ourselves not to do that again!”Kevin Agosta, drummer for LYPSWITCH, “Out Of Control is a fast-paced tune that basically picks up lyrically where the first song, ‘Get Out - Run,’ leaves off. In Run, the song is about addiction and losing yourself; that addiction can be drugs, booze, gambling, you name it, but whatever it is, it has complete control of you and your life, and the song is telling you to Run away from that situation. Eventually, it shows you can be at your lowest low, but with time and hard work, you can find hope, pull yourself out of that bad situation, and move forward to have a better life again. And when you get to the third song, ‘Man In The Middle,’ things get better. So… The three songs really tell a dark story, but in the end, everything works out, and hope is restored. But in ‘Out of Control,’ you’re still in the middle of the madness, and it’s one hell of a wild ride, that’s for sure! This song and video tell that part of the story.”Stephen Craig, Eonian Records Founder, said, “In the early days, LYPSWITCH categorized their sound as “underground punk-funk street rock.” When the guys arrived in Hollywood via Orlando in April of 1988, the glam scene was morphing to a more street-level sound, so they didn’t have to adapt much to fit in; however, the band’s sound naturally got more down & dirty. If you are a fan of Guns N’ Roses, L.A. Guns, Bang Tango, Love/Hate, and Funhouse, LYPSWITCH is for you!”
