Formed in 1984 in Lund by Jens Lundahl, Bax Fehling and Jaime Salazar, the band really got going when guitarist Örjan "Cozy" Wallén and keyboardist Peter "Pyrre" Nyrell joined the line-up.In 1986, the band was offered an album release by the recording studio Studiefrämjandet, where the song Somebody's Calling was professionally written and recorded. Another five tracks were written a year later, as the owner of the same studio (Berno Paulsson, producer of many famous Swedish hard rock acts) really liked Scrooge's work and fully supported the band.Year after year, the Scrooge musicians all turned professional and focused on other bands and artists such as Bad Habit, The Jonas Hellborg Group, Tone Norum, Flower Kings, Tommy Nilsson, Mario Salazar Band and others, while continuing to write songs and perform.In 1991, Scrooge toured Sweden and South America, but after that incredible experience, family commitments and the demands of a regular income prevailed, with the band therefore stopping their career. But the musicians are still great friends today and play every chance they get.The CD to be released by Steelheart will be entitled South Side Songs and will contain 12 of the band's best productions, remastered from the original tapes.The band features the very well know musicians Bax Fehling (BAD HABIT singer) and Jaime Salazar (The Flower Kings / The Tangent drummer), along with Örjan “Cozy” Wallén, Jens Lundahl and Peter “Pyrre” Nyrell.The Cd will contain 11 incredible songs taken from their various recording sessions, between 1986 and 1991.Their style might be described as a mix among Bad Habit, Toto and Skagarack. MELODIC ROCK at its best!!!
