Bio:
Energetic and authentic band, which combines the essence of classic hard rock with a fresh and current sound. With their powerful sound, thunderous riffs and piercing melodies, the quartet leaves no one indifferent. The band is composed of Carlos Ferrer (vocals), Ladri H (guitar), Sergi Gaitan (drums) and Jaume Roig (bass).Together, they have created their own powerful sound, which combines influences from the classic rock of the 80's and 70's with more contemporary styles.Their aesthetics, their attitude on stage and their sound make it clear. It is a group of mane, vests, half-open shirt, a powerful guitar sound and a singer leaving his voice, giving everything to attract the public, who did not hesitate to ask for encores. Not in vain they have been chosen to support the Australians The Casanovas in this European tour, in concerts like those of the Sidecar room in Barcelona a few weeks ago.
Album:
Midnite Motel had been announcing something big and they have confirmed it by releasing Gimme Some, a surprising first album.Any record that starts with "I don't mind" wins you over from the first second. The sound is as if they were playing in front of you, the killer 70's Aerosmith-like riff and a voice as characteristic as it is accurate do the rest. Immeasurable. We already told you about the effectiveness of "Easy money" a few days ago. Besides, "Love you to death" is still the perfect cut to get to know how a band that comes for all."Wasted time" takes us, without any protection, to a riff that seems to have been composed by Malcolm Young himself. It gets into your veins, it entangles you and directs you to move your feet as much as your head. What elegance, what class and what a way to execute the most classic rock."Corner of my eye" starts with a Hendrix-like freak-out, follows with a Guns n' Roses melody and turns into an excellent American rock half-time. There are many nods to their own influences, but always writing their own path and forging their own style. A little rest is not bad before what awaits us."Drive me up the wall" leaves you dry with that riff with certain reminiscences of Ted Nugent, with that strength and, especially, with a totally straight direction towards your brain. The Kiss-like seventies backing vocals end up enhancing a great song that you won't be able to stop listening to."Someday, somewhere" another powerful riff, a keyboard base and the atmosphere of the Purple with Coverdale are more than enough ingredients to create a perfect song. The band gives 100 % in every quaver and convinces you with their sincerity."Far away" returns to the most moving rock and the most basic riff. Again AC/DC come back to our mind, although there are also elements of other bands that you will have to discover during the listening. The album closes with "Black haired lady (with a big white dog)", which tells a story with its corresponding intro, a wacky riff and a spectacular development. A great ending. What is said. If you like the rock bands of the 70's and you thought that in Spain the rock had no future, they will blow your mind. They will be very big and, best of all, with the ace up their sleeve of international projection. Ladies and gentlemen, with all of you the most powerful band on the planet: Midnite Motel (and they don't pay us to say it).
