Bio:

To put it into a nut shell: WolveSpirit plays rock. Good old fashioned and down to the bone, grinding rock. Loaded with heavy guitars, big drums, a bass that will let your pants flatter around your knees, and of course a swirling hammond organ,WolveSpirit most likely will take you on a trip back to the psychedelic 60s and the heavy rollin` 70s, if not into another dimension. But what tops the icing, are the raw, expressive and blues infused female vocals of the charismatic red haired singer reminding at times of a Janis Joplin or at others of a Stevie Nicks.WolveSpirit captures the groove, feeling and spirit of far gone rockin`and rollin` days and elevates them into the 21st century to create their own unique sound. Thus WolveSpirit brings back something, that at times quite seems to have been forgotten in the modern and digital age we live in: Rock n`Roll!

Album:

“Change The World" is the title of WolveSpirit's new studio work and contains straight rockers and classic hard rock material, with skillful and powerful blues influences and well-dosed country interludes. Just like the Blues Pills, Kadavar, Graveyard or other representatives of the latest rock'n'roll generation, WolveSpirit eagerly explore the colourful history of rock music and distil their own sound from it.After a long wait, we are very happy to announce our new album, "Change the World." We hope you enjoy listening to the songs and watching the music videos as much as we enjoyed producing them. The project is a wonderful piece of art created through teamwork, and we thank everyone who has helped us during the production. Lastly, we want to say: As we stand before the abyss in the darkest hour of night,We shall bring you rock 'n roll, with all our power and might!WOLVESPIRIT have proven over the last ten years since their debut album "Spirit Metal" that it's not always the worst thing for a band to go down the do-it-yourself route. Where other bands have to let themselves be talked into it, the band from Würzburg does their own thing, also "Change The World", the new album breathes this spirit of creative freedom. The band and their environment seem to be fully satisfied with the album, because in terms of marketing, they are really hitting the ground running, including full-page ads in not entirely unknown print magazines. You don't see that every day with a band that isn't signed to a major label.I can understand this euphoria, because the longer break since the last studio album "Fire And Ice" seems to have done the band good, because the current album sounds more like the original idea of WOLVESPIRIT than the predecessor and also the sound is better. For the recordings of the record, the band travelled to Nashville, as they did for the albums before, to get a sound as authentic as possible, since the band has their own studio by now, this comes as a bit of a surprise. But that brings us back to the topic of artistic freedom. In my opinion, the sound is warmer again, so "Change The World" is more reminiscent of "Blue Eyes" than "Fire And Ice". The song material also seems more versatile and epic again, especially the organ by Oliver Wolfhart comes across really well in the right places. If you look at "Change The World" as a whole package, then you have to admit that WOLVESPIRIT have done a great job here, the album sounds like it was made in one piece and has relatively few boring moments. Moreover, the record no longer sounds completely tailored to frontwoman Debbie Craft, so it seems fitting to depict the whole band on the cover. However, I find it a bit difficult to choose the particularly strong songs of the album here and now, I like "Strong Against The Wind" and "Time Is Running" best. I am a little less enthusiastic about "Over The Rainbow", which has a rather restrained groove and threatens to burble a little, something that is rather untypical for the band, which also covers IRON MAIDEN from time to time. And the fact that the first seconds of "Fallen" make you think of Jon Bon Jovi should also be clear to anyone who has ever heard the song, this desert motif could perhaps have been packaged a little more cleverly.By the way, this time names like BLUES PILLS, KADAVAR and GRAVEYARD are mentioned in the popular band classification, but to my ears WOLVESPIRIT sound first and foremost like WOLVESPIRIT and that's a good thing. Whether "Change The World" is a bit better or a bit worse than "Blue Eyes" from 2017 doesn't really matter, the 2017 album probably had the better songs, but "Change The World" sounds more rounded and not quite as retro. Yes, it's fun, even if the basic theme of the album is of course anything but funny.
