Bio:

2 Die 4 is a hard rock band from South East England, England United Kingdom, that was formed in the 80s under the name No Exit. The band eventually changed its name between 1990 and 1992.Anyway, 2 Die 4 featured vocalist Andy Shaw. Andy used to be in The Quest and also just happened to be the son of Export's Harry Shaw.2Die4 only recorded the one album and split a few months after it was released. Shaw, I believe, rejoined The Quest for a short period, while bassist Simon Kenney, guitarist brother Nick Kenney and drummer Paul Disley recorded an alternative rock album under the name of Thurman. In order to do a feature for 'Kerrang!', I was actually present at the shoot for the video of 'You Got What It Takes' in Northern France. The band spent the day at AJ Hackett's Bungee jumping facility. The quartet took it in turns to jump off a disused viaduct (the Kenney's with their guitars). Of course, not to be outdone Disley spectacularly did a jump sat at his drum-kit!

Album:

Only one and only debut full-length album issued through the company Morgan Creek Records Edition in 1992.Melodic Hard Rock band from the UK.Love this album good solid hard rock. They play all the right notes where they are supposed to be played. Shame there was no follow up.This band deserved better, the vocals aren't the greatest, but the harmonies are fantastic. The melodies remind me of Harem Scarem and the guitars shred, they are a cross between Nuno Bettencourt and George Lynch.Album sounds like Extreme who are a clear influence, especially in the harmonies and the funky rhythm. They tend to have a slower tempo than Extreme on most tracks. But I really enjoy it. Walk Right Now is a good upbeat opener. You Got What It Takes is the best track. Sorry I Broke Your Smile is a stab at a commercial ballad. Come Inside has samples, a faster beat and even an orchestrated section. A bit proggy. Overall, a good album and a good effort. Not as good as Extreme but a fan of that band should like this.If you ever have the chance to pick it up, do so.
