Country : United States

Bio:

The band Seraiah was formed in 1985 by drummer Kyle Dietz and guitarist Quinton Gibson (who would later join the band Whitecross). After several changes in its line-up, the band settled with vocalist Brad Beckey and bassist Trace Ferrie (who would later play with the bands Whitecross and Stryper and in Michael Sweet's solo career). In 1988, they released a demo that caught the attention of the record label Pure Metal, and in 1990, they signed on to release their debut album, Carnival World. The album was very well received by the public and critics alike and featured the hit single ‘Rise Up.’ The following year, they toured throughout the United States, building a solid fan base.In 1992, Trace left the band and was replaced by Kirk McKinley, and the band recorded their last self-titled album. The album managed to place two hits in the Top 10 on the radio with the singles ‘No More Lies’ and ‘Time for a Change’.In 1992, the band also opened for Stryper on their ‘Can't Stop the Rock Tour’.

Album:

This is the second album by the American Christian hard rock band SERAIAH.It was produced with only the guitarist changed from the previous line-up. The replacement guitarist, Tracy Ferrie, would later go on to become the guitarist for STRYPER upon their reunion. While the previous album featured a considerably hard, orthodox sound, this work retains traces of that while shifting towards a softer, melodic hard rock sound centred on smoother, more mellow melodies. Particularly noteworthy are the two ballads: the third track, ‘When It Rains’, and the closing number, ‘Time For A Change’. These are truly exquisite gems that every melodic hard rock fan should hear.Their previous album was a metal classic but this album leans a little more hard rock on several tracks. Personally I really liked this album and I’m not a heavy metal kind of guy. But I do love a good hard rock album however and several tracks here fit that bill. As I said this was their last album kind of as several members went on to form the band Kid Promise and released an album with them. These guys rock good Christian metal well played they have a lot of Stryper sounds in them and don't know about anybody else but they also they also sound like a christian version of Britny Fox from the Dean Davidson era the music and the lead singer sounds like Britny Fox and Dean Davidson the first song.Fans of slick, polished, saccharine-drenched Christian AOR/melodic rock wil probably take one listen to this album and shout, "Hurray!"
