Female-fronted christian melodic hard rock / AOR from Franklin, Tennessee, USA.I definetely wouldn’t describe Cannan as a metal band, this is real solid effort from a good rock band.Only 2 demos in discography: First "Neverland" (1987) through Millennium Records and second "Dead End Street" (1989) also through Millennium Records.First demo "Neverland" starts off with a long keyboard-driven epic opener before transitioning into a lighter metal number. Overall, this demo seems to be lighter and more keyboard-y than I remember their 1989 follow-up Dead End Street being.Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but they did benefit from the decision to go heavier. AOR-esque light hard rock like this was on the way out by 1987.
Karen Minton was an American vocalist known for her involvement in the Christian music band Canaan.She passed away on April 11, 2026, after sharing a 60-year life alongside her husband Barry. Her musical legacy continues through her family, including her son Jason Minton, who actively performs and releases faith-focused rock music under the Jason Minton Band.

This very nice and mega rare female-fronted christian melodic hard rock / AOR..that kind of rides the line between some heavier almost traditional rock moments, and some commercial almost pop moments.There are some lighter moments on this demo that would count as light rock ballads, but for the most part this demo does not wimp out like many in this style will. There is also a long list of contributing musicians on the cover, without a list of who played what (like drums).They also have another demo called Neverland from 1987.The thing that impressed me the most about this album is the quality and versatility of their writing.
