Bio:

T.A.X. as founded in Duisburg, Germany and formed by Michael Bormann and his brother Dirk in 1987 after the end of High Voltage a band also formed by Bormann brothers. The band then evolved in 1987 after Peter Hanke joined, they went from a school band to a profession group, calling themselves T.A.X..The group carried on from there until Michael Müller and ex-Mad Max drummer Axel Kruse joined the band in 1990.The two new additions were not very keen on the band name so after some discussion, the group renamed themselves and changed their name to Jaded Heart.

Michael Bormann is a German vocalist. Since the first recording he had made with a band, he has been involved with several groups as their lead vocalist, having accepted contracts to record his vocals on albums rather than being a full time member of the bands. However, he was a founding and longtime member of Germany's hard rock band, Jaded Heart.Bormann's first step into the music scene was a high school band that he and his brother Dirk formed called High Voltage. The group changed their name to T.A.X. and then that evolved into Jaded Heart. His first chance at being with a "made band" was in 1993 when Gaby Hauke (Accept fame) called up Bormann to ask if he was interested in joining Bonfire. His time with the band was short lived as the band went their separate ways in 1994. By then, Jaded Heart had released their first album so he was still in the music spotlight. Worth noting, Bormann and ex-Bonfire mate Angel Schleifer reunited three years later as Charade.Bormann carried on with Jaded Heart while still maintaining involvement in other projects until 2004. After the release of the band's seventh album, the group fired him. He proceeded to continue with his solo career while also being the owner of his own recording studio, RMB Rock-Studios, in Duisburg, Germany. He was nominated for a few categories for the 50th and 51st Grammy Awards in 2008 and 2009. Through the years, Bormann has worked with noted musicians such as J.R. Blackmore (son of Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple and Rainbow), Jochen 'Zeno' Roth (brother of Uli John Roth of Scorpions fame), Jos Zoomer (from Vandenberg) and Anette Blyckert of Alyson Avenue and Nightwish. In 2013, after working together in the band The Sygnet (from 1997 to 2000), Bormann joined guitarist Alex Beyrodt and drummer André Hilgers in the band Silent Force replacing previous vocalist D.C. Cooper. The first Silent Force album with Bormann as vocalist is called Rising From Ashes and was released in 2013.

Album:

Before having success in the Nineties with his band JADED HEART, German singer MICHAEL BORMANN was part of a couple of groups during the ’80s.Michael and his brother guitarist Dirk Bormann founded their first band, named High Voltage while still in high school, in 1979. A big break came when in 1982 High Voltage was featured on a huge German TV-contest and as the youngest group (age wise) to participate, they won first prize. With that exposure, the band received numerous concerts arranged by radio stations, a jingle for a radio show and a single released. They relased a couple of singles in 1984-85, and at the same time High Voltage recorded a demo with new material, influenced by the AOR / melodic rock sound at the time in America. By 1987, the band added a second guitarist and changed its name to T.A.X., musically even more catchy and melodic hard rockin’.This bootleg CD “MICHAEL BORMANN ; T.A.X. demos 1989 (Pre- Jaded Heart)” include the 1989 cassette recorded as T.A.X. Initially the band did a 7-track cassette for promotion, and then a 13-track with additional material. This is the 13-track full recording. All songs are quite good (check out the video song below) well recorded & mixed. The group carried on the T.A.X. moniker until Michael Müller and ex-Mad Max drummer Axel Kruse joined, re-naming the band JADED HEART.Copies of these tapes circulated among fans for years, most of the songs with changed titles. Here we feature both titles these tracks are known.
