Even though they hail from rural Indiana, known more for cornfields than as a “Hot Bed” for Hard Rock and Metal music - the members of The Protest have embraced that American heartland work ethic and used their talent, drive and determination to take their music to a global audience. Positive energy is abundant in the band's live shows and is showcased in their new album “Legacy”, due out July 13th on Rockfest Records/Sony.Their new single “What Else You Got” is a fist pumping anthem about never backing down and fighting on despite adversity – it's sure to be used as a rallying theme song for college and pro sports in the near future. The song is the fastest rising of their career and has already debuted at #39 on the Mainstream Rock Indicator chart and #23 on the Billboard Christian Rock Chart. Previous singles “Rebel Static”, “Vicious Cycle”, and “Welcome to the Freakshow” have laid the groundwork for the band's current radio success.Brothers Josh and Jarob Bramlett met guitarists Adam Sadler and TJ Colwell while they were in high school, in small communities about an hour outside of Indianapolis. Josh & Jarob caught the Rock N' Roll fever after hearing KISS "Alive" when they were in middle school: it inspired Josh to begin learning how to play guitar and sing, and Jarob grabbed the sticks and kept time on the drums. After hearing "Detroit Rock City" Adam knew that he wanted to learn how to play guitar and followed that dream all the way to Los Angeles, where he studied at Musicians Institute. TJ was inspired by Def Leppard's two-pronged guitar attack and taught himself how to play, starting at the age of 13. They came together as The Protest in 2009 and released their first album "Game Changer" in 2012, which they supported with their first national tour. The band released their 2nd album, "Great Lengths" in 2014 and has been staying busy by playing across the US.The Protest are “Road Warriors” in every sense of the term by playing more than 150 dates a year. They’ve expanded their reach by branching out internationally and have toured in Germany and Canada. The Protest have been direct support for Tesla, 12 Stones, Demon Hunter, Ashes Remain, and Righteous Vendetta, among others. They just wrapped up the Rockfest Tour and will continue playing live throughout the rest of 2018 into 2019, including some festival dates. The Protest wants to bring a little hope and redemption to Rock N' Roll. Says front man Josh Bramlett: "Just because the music is heavy doesn't mean it can't uplift people and encourage them. We have a desire to serve others and reach people around the world. We want fans leaving our shows feeling different – and better - than when they came in".
Legacy, the RockFest Records debut from acclaimed hard rockers The Protest, is set to release July 13. Produced by Matt Arcaini (Disciple, VERIDIA), Legacy releases on the heels of its anthemic lead single, “What Else You Got,” which is already impacting mainstream radio.Co-written by The Protest and Josiah Prince (Disciple), “What Else You Got” debuted at #39 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Indicator chart, and was a most added debut at #23 on Billboard’s Christian Rock National Airplay chart, according to the publication’s June 9 issue. Encapsulating one of the album’s central themes, “What Else You Got” is a fight song from God’s perspective—He’s always in our corner, standing in the way of the enemy.Additional highlights of Legacy include “Noise Revolution,” a rally-cry to rise up and impact others with the love of Jesus; “Bad Self,” an acknowledgement of our daily struggle with sin set to searing guitar riffs and a grooving melody; and the aggressive “To The Death,” an urgent message of Hope fueled by The Protest’s signature hard sound.“What kind of legacy do we want to leave behind—ours or God’s?” says guitarist Adam Sadler of the album’s inspiration. “I want people to know we love Jesus and I hope our music will impact them for His glory. Our band’s life verse is 1 Peter 4:10: ‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms’ (NIV). We live in a broken world and people need Jesus. We want them to get to know Him through us and through our music. That’s what we pray and hope for every day.”New Castle, Indiana-based The Protest is comprised of Josh Bramlett (lead vocals), Adam Sadler (guitar), Jarob Bramlett (drums), and TJ Colwell (guitar). Game Changer, the band’s 2012 debut, was produced by Travis Wyrick (P.O.D., Disciple), while their 2014 sophomore set, Great Lengths, showcased “Vicious Cycle,” The Protest’s first Top 50 mainstream rock hit. This summer, the band is slated to appear at Kingdom Come Festival in Greentown, Indiana, and Logan, Ohio’s Move The Hills Festival, among other events.RockFest Records, a Nashville Label Group imprint, is helmed by Joseph Rojas, founding member of Dove Award-winning Christian rock band Seventh Day Slumber and creator of the City RockFest Tour. In addition to Seventh Day Slumber and The Protest, the label is home to hitmakers Random Hero; female solo rocker Zahna (formerly of ILIA); Nashville-based rock/metal band The Persuaded; and metalcore trio Amongst the Giants.
