DEACON STREET PROJECT is the project of Tommy Denander (g/b/keys, e.g. RADIOACTIVE) from Sweden.
Tommy Denander (born March 10, 1968 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a guitarist and producer.He has appeared on more than 2000 albums with artists such as: Michael Jackson, Paul Stanley, Alice Cooper, Ricky Martin, BB King, Don Henley, Sheryl Crow, David Coverdale, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Toto, Fee Waybill, Richard Marx, Robin Beck, House Of Lords, Westlife, Backstreet Boys, David Archuleta, Tokio Hotel, Radioactive, Michael Schenker, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kenny Loggins, Kelly Keagy, Jimi Jamison and others.Tommy appears on about 100-150 albums per year, is often seen on major TV shows (see YouTube link) and has been playing live all over the world with artists like Mitch Malloy, Bobby Kimball, Dan Reed, Jimi Jamison, Robin Beck, House Of Lords and others.

Tommy Denander never ceases to amaze me. Besides his untold amounts of session and producer work, he releases solo records and is the man behind AOR projects such as Prisoner, Rainmaker, Talk Of The Town, AOR and Radioactive. With the latter project, he made a true AOR masterpiece last year with "Taken." And now he's had time to make a follow-up to his 2004 Deacon Street Project, so he's once again shaking fourteen songs out of his sleeve.The style of Deacon Street is somewhat reminiscent of Talk Of The Town, Giant and later Journey. The songs are very poppy and also have a very '80s feel. Predictability is again very high, but the whole thing is again very solid and professional. Vocals this time include Thomas Vikström and Andreas Novak and on the guitar front, Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) and Reb Reach (Dokken, Winger), among others, deliver some fine guitar solos.Nothing new under the sun, but 'II' is another very fine and slick album that, however, can't match the last Radioactive in terms of songwriting. Wonder how many more albums Tommy will deliver this year. Or how many official advertising melodies and Eurosong songs he will piss off. As long as everything remains qualitative, however, I will continue to enjoy following his career.
