Bio:

The group was founded in Warsaw in 1996 initially under the name Mad Dog composed of: Sławomir "Śmiechu" Osówniak, Mariusz "Karbi" Karbowski, Arkadiusz "Opath" Gruszka (Corruption) and Marek "Marecki" Kowalski. The composition crystallized for several years. The group was joined by a charismatic vocalist Sylwester "Mały" Kostyra (Symphony), later the role of the vocalist was taken over by Sebastian "Sebb" Pańczyk (Dragon's Eye), who remained the band's frontman until 2016. The new vocalist of Leash Eye was known for such projects as Steel Habit or War -Saw Łukasz "Queju" Podgórski. Piotr Wojtkowski took the role of the drummer, after him Łukasz "Konar" Konarski (Chain Reaction) played the drums, and currently the drummer is Marcin "Bee Gees" Bidziński. In 2009, the keyboardist Piotr "Voltan" Sikora (Exlibris) joined the group. In 2009, the band made their debut with the album V.E.N.I, which collected positive reviews in the industry press, including in Metal Hammer (2/2010). The album contains compositions strongly embedded in rock climates - a dose of solid guitar playing straight from the 1970s, accompanied by modern sound, remarkable vocalizations and harmonies of Hammond organs. In spring 2010, the band released the single From Hell To Wyoming, announcing the second album of V.I.D.I, on which the musicians currently work in collaboration with producer Tomasz Orion Wróblewski (Behemoth, Vesania) and Filip Heinrich Hałucha (Vesania). In 2011, the team represented Poland at Wacken Open Air in the international Wacken Metal Battle competition. The band's performance on W: A: It was a consequence of winning in Toruń in April 2011 - in concert auditions of the national final of Wacken Metal Battle Poland 2011 - a prestigious competition for native metal bands. In June 2011, Leash Eye became the winner [5] of the Antyfest 2011 competition organized by the Antyradio radio station and won the main prize: the Golden Scythe statuette - the prize of them. Janusz Kosiński. The statuette was handed over to the band during the Leash Eye performance on the Polish edition of the Sonisphere festival on June 10, 2011.In July 2011, at the 5th Blues and Rock Festival Mira Kubasińska's Great Fire team won the second prize of the festival. A song from the repertoire of Mira Kubasińska and Breakout band "What a Man", lead singer Leash Eye - Sebastian "Sebb" Pańczyk - he sang together with Katarzyna Kowalska (wife of bassist Marek Kowalski). In March 2012, the team was the winner of the bands battle in Hard Rock Cafe Warsaw as part of the Hard Rock Rising 2012 competition. Two years after the departure of Sebastian Pańczyk in 2014, the band announced that the new vocalist was Łukasz "Quej" Podgórski (Steel Habit, ex War-saW). A year later, the change was announced as the drummer, as a result of which Marcin "Konar" Konarski replaced Marcin "Bee Gees" Bidziński (Goat Force One).In 2017, Leash Eye began working on the new album. The material was recorded and realized at Nebula Studio in Warsaw in July and August 2018. Maciej Karbowski took up the registration, and Haldor Grundberg from the Satanic Studio mix and master it.

Album:

The Warsaw Leash Eye celebrated the 20th anniversary of the uprising last year. In the first week of January the band bragged in the end (since the premiere of "Hard Truckin 'Rock" has passed almost 6 years) with a new album. A special disc for at least several reasons.First and foremost, the band has two significant rotations: Marcin Bidziński plays the drums here, who was perfectly placed in the composition, proposing definitely more broken passages from his predecessor, Łukasz Konarski, who preferred the traditional attack on 4/4. Before the premiere, however, I was most excited about the change in the position of the vocalist. Sebastian Pańczyk, who sang on all of the previous Leash Eye albums, replaced the voice with a different tone of voice, known from Steel Habit Łukasz Podgórski. It is known that the loss of a charismatic frontman hurts, but the new one took over the legacy of his predecessor almost painlessly, and besides, he had the opportunity to attend concerts for the last year. There is much more rock progression on this album than on the previous ones. The group already has jumps in these more epic areas (eg "Her Rose's Flavor" from "V.I.D.I."), but here we have their accumulation. You can hear from this material that it was made for a long period of time and was pampered in every detail. It starts with a powerful "Bones", whose main riff is associated a little with Deep Purple's "Knocking At Your Back Door". After such a delicious start, it can only be better. And is! Podgórski's seemingly raped vocal in "Moonshine Pioneers" is a patent that is to be searched for on CDs with Pańczyk in vain. This solution combined with the company's dense foundation works well, and the same number drills into memory no worse than leasheye evergreens like "The Nightmover" or "Open Up, Chris". Another delicious flavor is the slimy entry "Planet Terror". It perfectly highlights the "southern" character of the band's work. This piece is my favorite on the album, I really like such multi-layered compositions. I also like "Jackie Chevrolet", with such quick and specific shots Leash Eye is also famous.Undoubtedly, one of the key elements of the band's sound is Hammondy by Piotr Sikora. He, in turn, has his five minutes here in "One Last Time", which he decorated with a truly Jonlonian introduction. I have always liked the cooperation of guitar and organ in this band, it forms the basis of the unique sound of the capital quintet. While on the previous albums between the two pillars, the balance in the mix was preserved, here in some songs you can hear the string exhibition ("Jackie Chevrolet", "Well Oiled Blues"), and in other keys ("Planet Terror", "One Last Time" ").The group returned as it should return. They recorded something a bit different than I expected from them, and I really like being surprised, so it can only be counted as a plus. It was worth to wait out this drought time to finally be able to enjoy this great album. I hope that with the premiere of the band's album, it will also intensify its concert activity, because it has also been poor in recent years.
