Bio:

Hammerhead are a Sunshine Coast based 4 piece melodic rock band that formed in 2004 in Hobart Tasmania. Joining the fight to keep good time guitar oriented melodic rock alive in Australia was the primary mission and still is. Virtuoso lead guitarist, Adrian Scott is a serious head turner in his own right, but the band are a complete package that delivers rock the way it should be - tight, hard and passionate. The 2006 debut album, 'Stiff', was a cracking rocker out of the blocks and helped the band fast recruit a following around the nation. Track 2, 'Dance of the Mail Order Bride' instantly became the band's anthem, most requested at gigs and poached for several compilation albums and local airplay. In 2008, Hammerhead added fifteen track 'Seduction Suite' to the collection. This album didn't pack the punch Stiff did, but still has some ripper tracks that are still among most requested, like 'Drive Thru Lover', 'Crush My Soul' and 'Away From You'. This album kick started the band's interstate ventures allowing them to knock heads with like bands all around the country. In turn, this pushed the band onto bigger stages and landed support slots for some Oz rock and metal royalty, including The Screaming Jets , The Choirboys & Lord. Again, Adrian Scott stole shows in multi-band bills and festivals proving that Hammerhead were built for bigger stages.A couple of years later (2011) brought release of album no.3, 'Illumina'. This album reclaimed the sting of Stiff, but with better production and experience. Illumina boasts playability from start to finish - rare for a fourteen track album these days. The signature harmonised vocals and Adrian Scott's smoking fretboard hit a new high. The mix of hard rockers like 'Second Opinion and 'Still Alive' and ballads like 'Without You' and 'Need ya Tonight' shaped Illumina into a well rounded package of tasty rock. Unfortunately shortly after it's release, Nick Reeve skipped the state to live on the Sunshine Coast. Hammerhead lived on, but the further blow of original bass player/vocalist, Adrian Smith, opting out of the band to pursue other interests was enough to put a dent in the band's momentum.Hammerhead lived on with the the advent of Danny Swain, who, being born hardwired to rock, swiftly slotted into the line-up on bass/vocals and had the train steaming back on the tracks in a heartbeat. In 2015, Hammerhead, scored support for Motley Crew and Alice Cooper in Brisbane, and started working on album no.4. A crippling curse of member instability stretched out the making of this album, but finally in 2018, Oblivion was added to the discography - the band's favourite baby so far. A film clip has just been released for opening track, Pour Out ya Heart.
