Bio:

Great deeds, heroism and beautiful women. Is there anything better? We are Dartagnan, three friends from Nuremberg and look forward to you on our site, the first site in the world with "Musketierrock"! How does that sound? Stop it you best himself. Many of our songs are interwoven with Traditionals - with melodies that echoed some of them already hundreds of years ago through the streets. Yet our music also fits well in the present time - we find at least. In a world that's not at grade clearly, and simply, we try to convey what is important to us and what has always means people something: Big changes start small, but never without a certain amount of lust for life, compassion , friendship and never without the courage to tackle something and to look ahead.

Album:

dArtagnan: Three men who stand up for their dreams, who go their way together, face all resistance. Ben Metzner, Felix Fischer, and Tim Bernard could not have guessed at the beginning of their career with dArtagnan how correct the image of the musketeers would be. After the three Nurembergers entered the top ten, gave away prizes and played both live and TV in the hearts of the fans, the second musketeer rock album is now in the starting holes. (Pressetext) The new work is titled "Bewhrt & Verdammt", contains 13 captivating songs and will be released on September 15, 2017 on Sony Music. What awaits us on the new album after a brilliant debut? "New heroes" needs the country and so the three friends, who are already familiar from childhood, spit in their hands and enter with the piece of the same name the debut in the second edition of their musketeer's rocker. The beginning of "Jubel" reminds me of Lokomotive Breath by Jethro Tull, but they get the curve into the refrain. A very catchy, impulsive but also very kind tavern. "I do not look back," begins with a dull rhythm. It is then really fast, whereby here text and music a beautiful symbiosis. Full dynamics are proverbial. A long-winded flute with an Irish touch leads the ballad "I stand by you", which is full of pathos and melody and is woven with a really beautiful melody. This is strong emotion. "Night belongs to the dance" is a slightly naughty manner similar to the folk song, which according to the title comes on a dancer's light foot. In this quieter title "Auf deine Wohl", the rough voice of the singer Ben Metzer comes into its own. A bit of navigational navigation glimmers through. The violin play is very harmonious. "We forge the iron" has something medieval in itself, but only a pinch. This is the peculiarity of D'Artagnan, that they always give these elements only in homoeopathic doses. In the "The Mill Wheel", it is a love affair and heartache, which is based on a pleasant medieval age. The turning mill wheel was also beautifully implemented. "What do we want to drink?" ... exactly, an interpretation of the old classic by Herman Van Veen, which is surprisingly well suited to the rest of D'Artagnan's song, as if they had written it for themselves. "Legends" is a touching campfire ballad on the plucked guitar. This is very vocal. The story of "Schinderhannes" is told in a fast rhythm. Such stories are beautiful to hear and recall the original task of the folks, among others. wild adventure stories and to paint them musically. "Who knows" is sung to the melody of Auld Lang Syne in a separate text version, which in modern variant very nice to the traditional one. To play a lot of flotter, this ballad loses a lot of weight. The bagpipe provides a Scottish flair. As it is THE farewell song, it is surprising that it is actually the penultimate song on the album. "The last glass" now makes the ruffian on the second work as a very substantial acoustic version. This is the second section. Yes, the album is really over. Conclusion: The response of the Landrats to the sailors Santiano definitely D'Artagnan. They revive the myth of the clean, upright and celebratory heroes. They use an almost modern instrument, without striking too hard in the strings and also do not attack so intensely with the frivolous text material beside other bands with tavern background. In musical terms one finds here always borrowing from the Middle Ages and / or Irish Folk, most of the texts are also anchored in the folk song of the tavern, dance and love song, the songs of D'Artagnan rather played in "modern" tavernas become. Songs of longing, freedom, nobility, friendship and a healing world can also be found on this album. Thus D'Artagnan follow their success recipe without much experiment and pour their second album in the same way. Whoever liked the first one will like this too.
