Bio:

Crowned Buffalo’s First Lady of Rock, Jessie Galante along with her band “Actor” rapidly became the number one female singer in the region and received airplay from the area’s top radio stations. Moving to LA she formed the group “Fire” which gained massive appeal and regional acclaim as one of LA’s top bands. When the group disbanded she returned to the Buffalo area to concentrate on her solo career; she married double platinum producer Larry Swist (Spyro Gyra, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, Chuck Mangione and Sly & the Family Stone).Between August 2012 and July 2013, Jessie and Larry lived in Germany and Italy and traveled between New York City, New Jersey, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy to write and record songs for the CD entitled, “The Show Must Go On,” backed by a high-profile production team and joining Larry is Jack Daley (Lenny Kravitz, Joss Stone) and Rob Bailey (Anastacia, Jive Jones). Also collaborating with Jessie and producing are Dutch songwriter and guitarist Joop Wolters, Italian songwriter and producer Roberto Sterpetti (San Remo, Benedetta Giovagnini), Italian rock singer and producer Enrico Scutti (Cheope and Figure of Six) and Italian producer, songwriter, singer Alessandro DelVecchio (Glenn Hughes, Ian Paice, Jack Blades, and Deep Purple). To listen to Jessie Galante’s distinctive gift is to recognize a charged vocal approach that can shift from subtly sensual emotion to hair-raising aggression at a moment's notice. Jessie’s huge voice is her trademark… a consortium of pure strength, gorgeous fragility, inspirational vocal gymnastics and total control while breaking barriers… a distinction that shows why she stands in a class all by herself.Returning to the US in July 2013, The Hard Rock Café, Niagara Falls, NY honored Jessie with an elaborate display of her memorabilia in conjunction with The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Sadly, on December 28, 2013, Larry Swist passed away unexpectedly. The loss of her husband, friend, mentor and soul-mate was devastating and prompted Jessie to postpone the release of her CD. “Larry entitled the project, ‘The Show Must Go On.’ He believed that no matter what obstacles we face in life you have to keep moving on. He was very proud of the work we did together. The love we had for each other resonates in every single song. We had so much fun writing, recording, traveling and meeting new friends in all different parts of the world. He made every single one of our dreams come true doing everything we loved to do together. Our musical journey continues, just like he said, “The Show Must Go On” and his love for music and life lives with every beat of my heart… Jessie released her CD on September 19th and she’ll do just what the title project commands… She’ll go on… touring in Larry’s honor and divide her time between her home in New York and performing in Europe in 2016.

Album:

The cross-continental produced CD "The Show Must Go On" takes soul rock singer Jessie Galante on a new journey in honour of her late husband, double platinum producer Larry Swist. Beautifully orchestrated, “The Show Must Go On” utilizes live strings pulsating throughout the track, culminating in huge Queen like choruses and featuring Jessie’s glorious vocal performance. The title track of “The Show Must Go On” is the story of singer Jessie Galante's relationship with husband and producer Larry Swist and their story of love, life and music. The full-length 11-track album release “The Show Must Go On” was recorded in various cities and countries from NYC to Rome. The album embodies a universal flare of many genres, all embracing Galante's distinctive soulful voice. Her performances shift from a soft sensual emotion, to hair-raising thunder, all at a moment’s notice. Galante’s singing career and Swist’s extensive music production history, laid the foundation that created “The Show Must Go On”, their final, but magical journey together. Swist's producer's touch encouraged Galante to focus in on her deep and protected emotions. The result is an outpouring of freedom of expression and the birth of their mutual musical love child, “The Show Must Go On". That freedom is apparent throughout the album and it all kicks off with funk opener “Diamond In The Sky”. The infectious, guilt driven rocker “Drown” is a confession of Galante and Swist’s brief tumultuous separation. “Mamma (I Get A Little Crazy)” is a tribal, grooving, power ballad exposing a hurtful twist on a mother-daughter relationship. “Beautiful Man” is Galante’s love song and tribute to Swist revealed through the poignant lyrics. “Though I’m no rainbow, I can help you stop the rain, spill your soul I’m gonna catch it all and take away your pain.” In the re-do of Elton John’s “The Border Song”, singer Galante fires up her vocal chords and digs deep for an unforgettable performance of her trademark big voice! To support that voice, double platinum producer Larry Swist's (Lou Gramm, Spyro Gyra, Chuck Mangione, Tina Turner) production is augmented by a high-profile international team of songwriters, performers, producers and mixers. From NYC: Jack Daley as bassist (Lenny Kravitz, Joss Stone), Rob Bailey as guitarist (Anastacia, Aerosmith) and Marc Ribler as guitarist (Mitch Malloy, Lee Aaron). From L.A.: mixing several tracks is 14 time Grammy Award winner Mick Guzauski (Daft Punk, Eric Clapton, One Direction, Michael Jackson, Madonna). Swist's European production team includes Dutch luminary guitarist Joop Wolters. From Italy we have singer guitarist Roberto Sterpetti (San Remo, Benedetta Giovagnini), singer Enrico Scutti (Figure of Six) and singer/keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio (Fergie Frederiksen, Neal Schon, Joe Lynn Turner, Glenn Hughes), guitarist Mario Percudani (Mitch Malloy, Ted Poley, Hungryheart), bassist Anna Portalupi (Hardline, Tarja Turunen) and drummer Alessandro Mori (Glenn Hughes, Ted Poley). Newly added to this release is both a sensitive and powerful orchestral version of "Nights In White Satin", Galante's first recording since the passing of Larry Swist. Galante's dynamic team of musicians is inspired by members of her family: L.A. film composer and orchestrator Rossano Galante (Live Free or Die Hard, The Wolverine, The Shallows, Avengers), NYC producer Giuseppe Galante with performances by both and additional members of Galante's musical family. Also included are Buffalo born longtime friends: legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (Talas, Van Halen, Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs), engineer Mike Rorick (Living Color, John Jessel-Toto, Ani DiFranco) with Galante's vocals produced by multi-platinum award winner Armand Petri (Goo Goo Dolls, 10000 Maniacs, Denny Laine). Surrounded by the sensitivities and compassion of her family and friends, you can clearly hear Galante's heartbreak and emotion as she cries and reaches out to the love of her life. It's that fire of passion that gives Galante the strength to face her new journey in Larry Swists honour. The bittersweet message of "The Show Must Go On" CD is both personal and universal. It's a love story expressively yet painfully told. Note: before becoming a solo artist, Jessie Galante has enjoyed success in two major bands: Actor and Fire. Fire gained international appeal and regional acclaim as one of L.A.'s top rock bands.
