Following this line of text might read "Krayenzeit" the motto of the band. Which one would have but a big "Once Upon a Time" premise, because in the late 90s and beginning of the new millennium, a formation founded under the name "Fëanor" that was the direct predecessor band of Krayenzeit. After two years, however, severed after the dissolution of the band the way of "Angel" (including "Saidian"), Jo Lappel and Alex Reichert.Quite exactly 10 years later ran all three randomly in Esslingen in a bar again on the way and it was decided to finally take the old songs from "Fëanor" in good quality. Chris Zoschke ("epiphora", "Scars for Proof") and Daniel Martin ("Karkadan", "Lifthrasil", "Scars for Proof") came to the old hull band to and completed the preliminary project in the fall 2011th.However, this project evolved relatively quickly to a new and serious band. New songs were written and revised the old completely. With Karin Bußmann on violin and Julia Groth is completed the band and took the name "Krayenzeit".2015 Karin decided to leave the band to spend more time with her family and since autumn 2015 amplifies the studied musician Meike Stone the band virtuoso on the violin.On June 19, 2015 published Krayenzeit their debut album "On dark wings" on the renowned label Oblivion / SPV and achieved almost entirely positive reactions in the press and fans.Another highlight in the history of the band is working with the booking agency "Headline Concerts" which serves, among other things acts like Unholy In Extremo and Schandmaul.Now, the seven musicians are for the year 2016 in the wings to the one to present their second album, which is incorporated in February 2016 and on the other hand, to prove themselves to a large audience, as they at festivals like the Feuertanz- Festival or Wacken expected ...

Medieval Skirt 2016 an extremely popular genre. Otherwise it can not be explained that all big names have released this year a new album and this still going. But aspiring young bands such as KRAYENZEIT publish new pieces. "Tenebra" is the new album by the band, which are Support SCHANDMAUL on their upcoming tour. Since it does not hurt but, in advance to get a picture of "Tenebra".With a dark intro KRAYENZEIT open the plate. One hears croaking raven, bells and singing monk, so all in all a promising start. But almost everything that can be heard after the intro is conventional Medieval Skirt no real surprise. The title track shines with unimaginative lyrics ( "We own the night"), which has already too often heard somewhere, "Ship of Fools" leaves at best a rather cheesy impression and "A dance (with knitting Jig)" is simply boring. With "In Vino Veritas" is an attempt to recognize, to compose a drinking song, which unfortunately ends in irrelevance. A party song it can also not only by the simple mention of the to be consumed beverage arise.Nevertheless KRAYENZEIT often have very beautiful approaches. The instrumentation surprised example in many places due to their versatility and presents the audience a beautiful bed of folk and medieval sounds. The voice of Markus Engel, often reminiscent of Alea SALTATIO MORTIS is quite pleasant to listen to. Among the good approaches but also include some songs that show that KRAYENZEIT not proceed raggedly. "Moli Timere Messorem" is an anthemic and danceable number with beautifully narrated face, "Call The Lamia" Although less convinced by the text, but rather by the combination of catchy folk and heavy riffing, similar plays the song "purgatory".Often, however, simply KRAYENZEIT missing that certain something. Some songs you've already forgotten after listening or thinking because of its similarity to the title, they have already heard selfsame. As relatively new band KRAYENZEIT with "Tenebra" on the right track, although you can not really speak of a milestone. However undisputed highlight forms the last song of the disc, "All Of Me". This emotional ballad acts far less tense as the rest of album and sounds therefore very honest. If the band can lyrically and musically convincing in this way in coming discs, one must certainly be excited to see what more is to come.
