After a successful release of their 2010 Dead Edition EP, and a successful, European tour in 2011, multi-cultural rockers Living Deäd Lights announce the worldwide release of their debut full album, Black Letters (GB Sound Label), due out January 27, 2014.According to Andrea Carraro in his Rolling Stone Magazine feature of Living Deäd Lights, "…the coolest thing to hit a stage in the past ten years...a guaranteed mega-hit." Black Letters was recorded at The Hobby Shop Recording Studios in Los Angeles, in a collaborative effort by Fred Archambault (Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones), David Spreng (Bob Dylan, Alice Cooper) and Tom Baker (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie). Living Deäd Lights have an unbending faith in rock n’ roll, and Black Letters is hypnotic in its indulgence.While introducing a newfound sophistication and depth, producer Fred Archambault describes Black Letters as, "a stroke of genius and a spellbinding new vision for music".The new record signals that in rock music, any musical idea can now be achieved. The band’s attention to detail has produced a timeless record about the labors and glories of aspiring to greatness. It’s first single and video, “This is Our Evolution,” is set for a November 18, 2013 release. “We all go through so many circumstances that define who we are,” explains Dämien. “Most people have a good idea about what they want in life yet they have no idea how they're going to achieve it. We all get hung up on bad habits, life events and become comfortable in our own personal situations. This song was written to wake people up and help find themselves, to learn how to make whatever changes within themselves they need to evolve and move forward.” The album consists of twelve songs that hit a pure, raw core of confession. They frame destruction yet leave us a boundless sense of possibility and hope. The riffs are slashing, destructive yet beautiful, and their penetrating lyrical insight somehow puts the purity back in music. “Everything is about real life for us,” Dämien says. “Hopefully we’re able to convey the ideas in somewhat of a poetic story format. We want our music to be artistic, intelligent and interesting. We want our music to reflect our life experiences or situations. We want people to be able to see themselves in the songs, and for the music to help them evolve through whatever situation they’re going through. I mean, what’s art without a point?”Once stricken with poverty, homelessness and addiction, these social outcasts reveled in the one thing they actually gave a shit about, getting laid that’s creating everything that good rock n’ roll should be. Yes, the lyrics are raw, sensitive and real. And they express frustrations over the confused state of the world. But they bring a regenerated edge and urgency back to popular music.Living Deäd Lights have accepted no boundaries. Thunderous, stirring, melodramatic, always compelling, they have chosen to follow the seductive path of their instinct while preserving the vital spark of individuality that sets them apart.Dämien concludes, “We have a message entangled inside a nastiness of sound, and inside a destructive energy there’s a current of hope that exists. There are ideas about life that for those who care to absorb what we’re about could find that element of hope they need. It’s honestly something that we feel is missing in music and art today.”
