Behind the new name Under Sanitys Bane, one can find musicians who have been in the running with Masquerader for more than a year. Guitarists Denis Pfeffer (Oder To Ruin, ex-Grimblade,Forlorn Tales) and Simon Buse once took the initiative to start this power metal project. Earlier they released two demos: Through Time And Space and Ghost In The Shades, every time with a different female singer. Bassist Markus Hosch is on board since November 2012.A new chapter started for the band in September 2013. Due to the fact that there happens to be a Taiwanese band with the moniker Masquerader, they decided to call themselves Under Sanitys Bane from now on. This band did not make another demo, but right away a proper full length album A Cosmic Tragedy with two new members in their ranks: female singer Cristina Grijalva (she wrote a big part of the lyrics as well) and keyboardist Jens Rostfeld. The latter one will also be necessary, since the band wants to go in a more bombastic direction; however, without being considered a gothic metal band. They put that straight and it is true: this is dynamic power metal with loads of Iron Maiden influences in guitar skills, while Helloween and Edguy are said to be inspirers as well.
