Album:

The Seventh Life Path is the seventh full-length album by Norwegian symphonic metal band Sirenia. It will be released on May 8 in Europe, May 11 in the United Kingdom and May 12, 2015 in North America through Napalm Records. This will be the first record released by the Austrian record company since An Elixir for Existence. The cover artwork was created by Gyula Havancsák of Hjules Illustration And Design, who told And Justice For Art about the experience: "I got some instructions from the band for the making of this cover artwork. They wanted the character of death standing behind a white dressed woman. My first thought was: How can I show a beautiful girl without face? How can I avoid to show a girl face? Well, I draw a white hood on her face, with crochet part in front of her eyes. This part looks like as a big eye that watches the fate of humans. She pull a life thread, but this one soul is lost. We can see this line (could be silver for example) change to disgusting muddy brown between her fingers...and this thread runs into a hourglass..., it falls down in the sand."Regarding to the artwork's other symbols, Gyula said that SIRENIA "wanted to see some roots and tree branches on the cover and the scythe that looks as the number 7 and a mountain with a path in the background. The mountain symbolizes life, the top of the mountain is the end of life. The highest point where you can look back your whole life. This is the meaning of the flexous path... The 7 number appears as 7 ravens, 7 snakes, 7 roses on the dried out wreath..."SIRENIA's sixth studio album, "Perils Of The Deep Blue", sold around 900 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 20 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200."Perils Of The Deep Blue" entered the official German chart at position No. 50 — the band's highest German chart entry ever — and the Swiss chart at No. 43.In 2008, SIRENIA recruited singer Ailyn (born: Pilar Giménez García) as the replacement for Monika Pedersen, who left the group a year earlier after only one album due to "musical differences."Ailyn was best known as a former contestant on the Spanish version of "The X Factor", the biggest television talent competition in Europe.

Album:

Norwegian-based symphonic gothic metal veterans SIRENIA have set "Dim Days Of Dolor" as the title of their upcoming album. Due on November 11, it consists of eleven brand new songs plus one bonus track. The artwork was once again created by Gyula Havancsák from Hjules Illustration And Design. All recordings have been completed and the album is currently being mixed at Hansen Studios in Denmark.Commented SIRENIA mastermind Morten Veland: "It is always a great feeling to have completed a new album."With eight SIRENIA albums under the belt, some people ask me if it is difficult to keep up the enthusiasm at this point. But that's not problematic at all; I have never been so enthusiastic about any album before."With this album, we have reached new heights that seemed out of reach in the past."I feel that the countless hours we have put into this album really have paid off in the end. This album is also the most diverse album we've done to date, also the performances has never been better."I can't wait to share this album with all the SIRENIA fans and metalheads out there. This album will mark a special point in the band's career, I am sure."SIRENIA recently parted ways with their Spanish singer Ailyn Giménez García for "personal reasons." The band said in a statement: "We part ways on good terms and we wish Ailyn the best of luck for her future endeavors. Thanks a lot for the great years we shared in the band and thanks for all your efforts in this period; we are forever grateful. It has been a true delight and privilege working with you. May all your dreams be fulfilled and may your future shine."SIRENIA was forced to cancel a recent concert in the Czech Republic after Ailyn's mother died, "a tragic event that had an impact on Ailyn's health as well," the band explained. Another show in Kherson, Ukraine went ahead with the help of a session singer, Emmanuelle Zoldan, who had contributed guest vocals to every SIRENIA album since 2004.Ailyn released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in which she said that her exit from SIRENIA was not her decision.Ailyn (born: Pilar Giménez García) joined SIRENIA in 2008 as the replacement for Monika Pedersen, who left the group a year earlier after only one album due to "musical differences."Ailyn was best known as a former contestant on the Spanish version of "The X Factor", the biggest television talent competition in Europe. She appeared on four studio albums with SIRENIA: 2009's "The 13th Floor", 2011's "The Enigma Of Life", 2013's "Perils Of The Deep Blue" and 2015's "The Seventh Life Path".

Album:

Two years after "Dim Days Of Dolor", mastermind Morten Veland presents the ninth Sirenia album, "Arcane Astral Aeons", once more reflecting the Norwegian's love for title alliterations and succeeding in infusing the darkest night with the brightest colours. Who could resist a symphonic, unbridled opener like "In Styx Embrace"? Singer Emmanuelle Zoldan's ethereal mezzo-soprano voice connects all 11 varied and spirited compositions. The insanely melodic "Into The Night" impressively showcases its abilities and flows into the catchy "Love Like Cyanide" that's not even afraid to employ a small handful of black metal trademarks. Danish producer legend Jacob Hansen managed to harmonize Sirenia's more soothing side with edgy metal sounds and delivers a perfectly balanced wild ride. The most compelling release so far courtesy of Morten Veland!

Album:

Symphonic metal institution Sirenia has renewed in darkness and presents its new studio album, "Riddles, Ruins & Revelations". The quartet around mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer Morten Veland is certainly not afraid of combining a heavy symphonic sound with modern influences, of which the latest record "Arcane Astral Aeons" (2018) is proof. This time, Sirenia offers an exciting new twist to the songs, spicing them with electronic vibes, but never losing sight of musical core. The four-piece remains as true to the album title word-play as they do to their dedication to symphonic soundscapes, drawing the listener into a pounding narrative about the darkest aspects of life. All eleven songs accumulate step by step to an integral sound artwork, where the versatile mezzo soprano voice of singer Emmanuelle Zoldan always shines in high profile. In addition, there are many enchanting, instrumental surprises lurking on the way that absolutely need to be discovered. With the opener "Addiction No. 1", the formation mainly based in Norway delivers an immense and catchy tune that will have fans of bands like Beyond The Black and Amaranthe falling in love immediately. "We Come To Ruins" offers a contrast of harshness and skillfully portrays the multi-faceted nature of Sirenia. With "Downwards Spiral", Emmanuelle is supported by the remarkable voice of longtime friend Joakim Næss on clean vocals, who has joined the band on previous releases. The band's tenth full-length ends with a cover of Desireless' 1986 hit "Voyage Voyage", where the band again impressively combines symphonic sounds with electronic atmosphere, which doesn't count only for this final epos, but for "Riddles, Ruins & Revelations" as a whole. Most parts of "Riddles, Ruins & Revelations" were recorded at Audio Avenue Studios in Stavanger, Norway and mixed and mastered entirely by Morten Veland himself.

Perils of the Deep Blue is the sixth studio album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia. It was released on June 28, 2013 in Europe, July 1 in the United Kingdom and July 9 in North America through Nuclear Blast.Produced by Morten Veland, it was mastered and mixed by Endre Kirkesola at Dub Studios in Norway. The cover art is by artist Anne Stokes, and was discovered by Veland by chance via the Internet.Ailyn joined a Norwegian choir in 2012 to get some training and also inspiration for the upcoming release.[4] According to Morten, the writing process took two years. He began writing for the album before the release of their previous one.The entire band and all the people we are working with are absolutely ecstatic about it! This album takes SIRENIA to the next level and brings many new sides of us to the table. There's typical tried and tested SIRENIA stuff but also approaches that you've never heard from us before. I think I've never felt so good about an album throughout my entire career. I mean, I love them all, but this one is something special. Album:

Exploring a new style like never before, symphonic metal band Sirenia revolutionizes its melodic darkness on the brand-new studio album "1977", out May 26, 2023 via Napalm Records. Transporting the listener to a retro auditory arcade harking back to when groovy synthwave melodies dominated the world of music, the international band merges late 70s and 80s pop/rock stylings with synthwave elements and remarkable, hard-hitting symphonic melodies, shaking the listener to the core. Once again, Norwegian mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Morten Veland produced the 11th record, while HK at Vamacara Studio, France, took care of the mixing. It marks another proof that, after more than twenty years of existence, Sirenia still ranks at the very top of the genre.Captured within the magic of captivating 80s sonics, the four-piece opens up the enchanting new offering with the captivating opener “Deadlight”. The world of soulful violin and fragile piano lines builds up an energetic atmosphere, underlined by the wistful tunes of the multi-talented mezzo soprano voice of French singer Emmanuelle Zoldan. The track is followed by the fast-paced “Wintry Heart”, which gives a bittersweet taste of early 90s vibes and roaring guitars, while “Nomadic” represents Sirenia’s characteristic dark and heavy side as shredding guitar riffs alternate with playful interludes while relentless drums and symphonic electronic elements go hand in hand with another. “A Thousand Scars” marks a totally new fusion for Sirenia, as heavy symphonic tunes dressed as remarkable rock riffs and poppy rhythms dance together with the feathery light vocals of Emmanuelle. With the eerie and epic tunes of “Fading To The Deepest Black”, the song is reminiscent of thelast album "Riddles, Ruins & Revelations" (2021). Kicking off with vertiginous blast beats and a mesmerizing performance by Emmanuelle Zoldan, a warm vocal interlude by Morten Veland supports the song's stunning atmosphere before it leads into an impressive guitar solo. Following the operatic symphonic highs, the heavy side of Sirenia is not forgotten and appears especially towards the end of their 11th record. Wrapping up the multifaceted album "1977", the bonus track “Twist In My Sobriety” is an absolute time machine. The cover of the million-times-over streamed song by German born British singer Tanita Tikaram matches the surprisingly deep voice that presents Emmanuelle in a very new range, while the eerie mid-tempo appears in a brand-new light of modern synth beats and characteristic synth-oboe. Morten Veland states: “‘Twist in my Sobriety’ is a track that I have enjoyed since it was originally released by Tanita Tikaram back in 1988. The song has a very melancholic vibe to it, which in my opinion makes it a perfect match with Sirenia.” Transporting the fans right into smokey, neon lit nightclubs, the eclectic mix of "1977" opens up exciting new facets of symphonic, electronic and groove elements in Sirenia’s music.
