Info:

Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, east London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. The band's discography has grown to thirty-seven albums, including fifteen studio albums, eleven live albums, four EPs, and seven compilations.Pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Iron Maiden achieved initial success during the early 1980s. After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of US and UK platinum and gold albums, including 1982's The Number of the Beast, 1983's Piece of Mind, 1984's Powerslave, 1985's live release Live After Death, 1986's Somewhere in Time and 1988's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Since the return of lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith in 1999, the band have undergone a resurgence in popularity, with their latest studio offering, The Final Frontier, peaking at No.1 in 28 different countries and receiving widespread critical acclaim.Despite little radio or television support,Iron Maiden are considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history, with The New York Times reporting in 2010 that they have sold over 85 million records worldwide. The band won the Ivor Novello Award for international achievement in 2002. As of October 2013, the band have played over 2000 live shows throughout their career. For the past 35 years, the band have been supported by their famous mascot, "Eddie", who has appeared on almost all of their album and single covers, as well as in their live shows.

Album:

Collectors Dream Records is releasing today, February 19, 2016, a new Tribute to metal legends IRON MAIDEN. Titled "A Tribute To Iron Maiden - Death Or Glory [Celebrating The Beast Vol. 2]", the album includes cool interpretations of classic Maiden songs by several acclaimed vocalists in the hard rock / metal genre, including Steve Overland (FM), Doogie White (Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock, Rainbow, La Paz), Steve Grimmett (Lionsheart, Grim Reaper), Bernie Shaw (Uriah Heep) and legendary Iron Maiden first vocalist Paul Di'Anno. Also featured there's talented musicians from the genre such as Paul Quinn (Saxon), Andy Barnett (FM), Lea Heart (Fastway) or Bernie Torme (Ian Gillan, Ozzy Osbourne) on guitars, Fastway's drummer Steve Clarke, keyboardist Jem Davis (UFO, Praying Mantis, FM) and more.As on all tribute albums, there's something for everyone, with some versions true to the originals and others slightly re-arranged.In the faithful to the original takes we have "Murders In The Rue Morgue", even more aggressive than the original updated with a modern sound, Steve Grimmett's fast and furious "Aces High" (great solo by Paul Quinn of Saxon here), and the monster, heavy version of "Remember Tomorrow" where Paul Di'Anno shines. Also Grimmett's rendition on "PowerSlave" is really good in my opinion. The slightly different versions are the ones performed by Steve Overland (FM), obviously arranged to fit his more melodic pipes. I really enjoyed his performance on "Flight Of Icarus" and "Prisoner", with the band almost sounding like Whitesnake.Doogie White sounds almost like a Bruce Dickinson clone in "The Clairvoyant", and demonstrate he could have been the perfect replacement singer in Maiden instead of Blaze Bailey.Another great cover is delivered by the underrated Bernie Shaw (Uriah Heep), performing "Fear Of The Dark" with fire but adding his unmistakable melodic bluesy pipes. As said, there's something for everyone in all tribute albums, and "A Tribute To Iron Maiden - Death Or Glory [Celebrating The Beast Vol. 2]" has heavier but as well more melodic than the original versions of these famous songs. These covers appeared previously in one form or another on different compilations, but you have them all together here in this nice 12-track compilation.
