Album:

The full-length studio album that was released in 1999 proved that Pretty Boy Floyd wasn't very productive at all, not to mention that this album has only several new songs while the rest are pretty much a re-recorded version of previously released materials. Their debut, "Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz", was always remembered as one of the most fun party albums ever made in the history of glam and "Pornstars" possessed the spirit of that album portrayed in the new tracks such as "Saturday Nite" and "Restless".The production is raw and quite different than the commercial approach of the debut. The band still has the same energy and enthusiasm even though at times, Steve Summers' voice sounded exhausted and he lost control a few times. If you didn't have the debut yet, this album is a decent representative of their many old hits such as "Leather Boyz", "I Wanna Be With You", or "(Rock And Roll) Set The Nite On Fire", but if you even already have the debut, I'll say this album is worth a catch for those aforementioned new tracks, including the cool anthemic ballad of "Shy Diane", the rare track of "Good Girl Gone Bad" from their EP, and great covers of Kiss' "Shout It Out Loud" as well as Alice Cooper's "Department of Youth".Pretty Boy Floyd's musical style can easily be described as a blend of Motley Crue and Poison, so if you like both bands, chances are you'll love this one too. It's quite hard to look for their debut as it has been out of print long time ago, so if you stumble across this disc for a cheap bargain, don't hesitate to buy as it's worth your hard-earned penny for those new tracks alone.

Line Up:

Steve Summers - lead and backing vocals
Kristy Majors - guitars, backing vocals
Keri Kelli - guitars, backing vocals
Keff Ratcliffe - bass
Kari Kane - drums, percussion

Album:

Tonight Belongs To The Young is a compilation of remastered demos from the American band Pretty Boy Floyd. The tracks were originally supposed to be released as their second album on MCA Records in the early 1990s but did not surface until 2003.The quality sucks, but the songs are really good. If you liked the first album then you should dig this one as well, it's exactly the same style. Some of the songs has been released on other albums before. "Far Away" on Shameless's Queen 4 a Day album. And "Restless" on PBF's Pornstar album. If you don't mind the shitty sound quality, as long as the songs are good. And if you liked the first album, then this is a must-have.Every song on this cd is AMAZING, everything that Kristy Majors touches is awesome.excellent release by PBF, even with this production.there is a certain change in their sound in a more hard rock structure and the vocs remind me of Stephen Pearcys. My opinion is, that there are 2 gems here: "Tonight belongs to the Young" and "Hands off my Radio", surely their best ever songs. The rest of the songs are pretty good too.Paula Janecek - artwork, layout design.

Size Really Does Matter is the third and most recent studio album of the American band Pretty Boy Floyd. It is their first studio record not to feature guitarist Kristy "Krash" Majors and drummer Kari Kane.Although the album was not commercially successful, it received positive reviews from music critics such as Allmusic.Notably the album features no songs written by former guitarist Ariel Stiles or Kristy Majors. Stiles has been quoted as saying that he "was very happy to see Steve create some new music with new people".The song Dead is a cover of Lesli's old band, The Distractions.727 is written for drummer Dish's sister who died in a car accident on 27 July 2002. This was written by Lesli Sanders. The album was co-produced by bassist, Lesli Sanders and Brian Haught.

Album:

PRETTY BOY FLOYD: “Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz” in its Perris Records reissue including 5 bonus tracks. The label also ordered a new artwork for this release (I still prefer the original).Songs such as “48 Hours”, “Rock And Roll Outlaws” and “Only The Young” really rock, and reminds one of Poison and early Motley Crue. There are also two nice slower paced songs called “Wild Angels” and “I Wanna Be With You”.This cult classic 80s US glam album reissue features five bonus tracks, including the original Japan Edition bonus track, very cool “Slam Dunk”. This is one of the very first Perris Records releases, and the and the new artwork ordered is quite poor. The original cover was much better, and ‘very ’80s’.However what matters is the music, and we have here bonus tracks and a much better output than the old CD version.Btw, this reissue is out of print, with used copied being sold for over $60.Pretty Boy Floyd sounded good and looked outrageous, a combination that created a huge buzz in their early years. I feel they should’ve had more recognition, and give Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz two thumbs up!Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz is the debut album from the band Pretty Boy Floyd. It reached #130 on the United States Billboard chart in 1989. It was released on MCA Records, and was produced by Howard Benson, who would go on to have a production career in the 90's and beyond, working with Hoobastank among many others. There are videos for the songs "Rock And Roll (Is Gonna Set The Night On Fire)" and "I Wanna Be With You".

Album:

"Public Enemies" is exactly what you'd expect from these seasoned Sunset Strip veterans! A fun record meant to be played at maximum volume to help you forget about your worries, of which we all have plenty these days.Kristy Majors says: "Staying loyal to our 80s roots, 'Public Enemies' is a true follow-up to the classic 'Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz'."Not too long ago, when rock was about having a good time, letting your hair down and creating chaos and anarchy, four guys got together in Hollywood and formed a band. NYC guitarist Kristy Majors hooked up with west coast frontman Steve Summers and laid the foundation for their dream band. They worked, wrote songs and played and played and played. The band chose the name Pretty Boy Floyd because it seemed to describe them: four tough teens armed with guitar licks and teenage angst who set out to conquer the world. As the new millennium rolled in, new music fans began to wonder what they had missed back in the heyday of 80s and early 90s sleaze rock. A whole new breed of young fans who weren't born when the band first emerged began to discover their music. The original fans from back in the day and the new fans found common ground - a love of Pretty Boy Floyd's music, sleazy shows and fun times. Never mind what the critics think, or what trends may have come and gone. Having outlasted many of the critics who cried "they'll never make it", Pretty Boy Floyd continues to record and tour the world winning over news fans both young and old.

Album:

Cleo Recs has just released “Stray Bullet [Limited Edition +3]”, PRETTY BOY FLOYD‘s early ’90s recordings that were to be the band’s follow-up to their major label debut album Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz. The material showcases a more commercial from the band close to Poison, and were originally supposed to be released as their second album on MCA Records in the early 1990s.The release – limited to 500 copies – also includes the entire 1998 EP ‘A Tale Of Sex, Designer Drugs, And The Death Of Rock N’ Roll’, plus 3 special bonus tracks featuring Tracii Guns on guitar. The heyday of Glam / Hair Metal was indeed a unique time in the history of heavy rock. Essentially, bands with the formula and aptitude to churn out Top 40 hits found that they could appeal to the masses and bag scores of really hot chicks if they added some distortion and adopted an androgynous stage personality.Today, as we all know, Hair Metal is still out there, but the “major” players have had to modify their respective styles to reach a wider audience. Clearly, though, Glam / Hair Metal has its place in musical history, and can / should be enjoyed for its merits even to this day.Enter Pretty Boy Floyd (PBF), a band determined to keep the sub-genre alive. In fact, God luv ‘em for it!“Stray Bullet” include the material for their second LP on MCA Records that was dropped at the eleventh hour. Most tracks are filled with raucous fun and, via controlled decadence, the celebration of life — especially life as carefree “young bucks.”The lyrics, light in content, are generally shallow and ephemeral, but this is consciously done to promulgate a positive vibe throughout each song and to ensure that PBF can deliver catchy choruses – something that has always been and continues to be indigenous to Hair Metal / Glammy Hard Rock.Because of the constant emphasis on sing-a-long lyrics, musically, there is nothing eye opening here, but there are no turn-offs either. In the end, the drumbeats are pronounced, basic, and deliberate. The guitars provide the pace for each song, and are presented with typical treble-influenced distortion – you know, the kind that basically blends all of the chords and notes together. The bass guitar work adds some structure to each song, and rounds out the sound by providing needed dimension, but is generally not complex. The vocals are the most emphasized instrument, and tend to come through smoothly in a non-offensive manner, however, a bit over-processed to achieve a canned Top 40 DJ voice sound – complete with plenty of old Hair Metal tricks and fallbacks, such as periodic use of the cerebral “whoa-ohs.”While the production quality of these songs differ, overall it’s good and enough to enjoy its catchiness. More poppy and melodic akin Poison, one wonders what would have happened if MCA approved this Pretty Boy Floyd second album back in the day.All of the tracks generally have all the right ingredients to be winners, and PBF shows as much ability as any band of their feather to create quality songs. Also included there’s entire 1998 EP ‘A Tale Of Sex, Designer Drugs, And The Death Of Rock N’ Roll’, plus 3 special bonus tracks – two of them Motley Crue covers, one featuring Tracii Guns on guest guitar.I think that if this album had been released in 1991 as it was originally planned – even in a time when the genre started to decline – and received the benefit of conventional recording standards and promotional resources available, PBF would likely have sold at least one million copies.Pretty Boy Floyd successfully captures here that which made Glam Metal popular, and churned out quality tunes.
