Back in 2019 when we formed Squared we always had a full length album in mind, Singles and EP’s didn't feel right as Squared’s debut so we worked vigorously and now we are here in 2022 ready to unleash STRANGE AFFAIRS to the world!Squared was formed in 2019 at the hands of French guitarist Arthur Vere and Swedish singer Jack L. Stroem of course, drawing inspiration from the genre described above. A "Jack of all trades" figuratively and literary as the frontman in the Swedish/French AOR group Squared, guitarist and vocalist in the Swedish power metal group Vandor (albeit not lead vocalist), Lead singing duties in the group Lancer and a solo career to top it all off!

80s rock extravaganza, recorded by Jack L. Stroem & Arthur Vere It is a must have for AOR fans.Let's get into the time machine and head to the last years of the eighties, because Squared, with their "Strange Affairs" has our bags packed, and we know in advance that we are going to have a great time! Already the keyboard intro proves it and is proof enough to announce us that this is going to be a direct trip to AOR, with touches of Hard, and the melodies are going to be present for everyone's delight, just as we heard in "Stranger At Heart" and "Personal Matter".The debut album was initially paused to be released in 2020, but for the known reasons, it had to be postponed. Moving on to the tracks, "Darkest Fantasies" is captivating from the start, and lovers of good AOR, are in for a very pleasant surprise with this album. It wasn't all bad news, on the contrary, the time in the delay was used to record some more songs, and they added sessionists Robin Risander on drums and Kammo Olaivar on bass.Of course, there is no shortage of ballads, which come in the form of "Love Can Be Lonely", "Anthem Of A Broken Heart" and "Love Affair".And I don't want to fall into repetition, but the songs are still very good, with "Say That You Love Me" and "Clutching At Straws", with a very accomplished sound, and choruses that will easily stick.As bonus tracks, we have "Night Drive Cali", an instrumental that could have been part of the soundtrack of any series of that time, and "This Feeling", a great song wherever you listen to it!Great debut and promising future for a band that chooses a genre that doesn't run out of steam, and makes us enjoy eleven wonderful songs.
