M.ILL.ION is a highly critically acclaimed Swedish melodic hard rock band formed in 1989 in Gothenburg, Sweden by bass player B.J Laneby.M.ILL.ION´s music is described as "the perfect mix of classic rock, melodic metal and rock'n roll" comfortably placed in the 21st century. Their biggest influences include Kiss, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Dio and Queen.Seven original albums released so far.Their latest album Sane & Insanity (Europe/Japan 2011) went straight to the No.1 spot on the U.S Import chart NEH and reached the "Album of the Year" list at the world's most important site for hardrock, melodicrock.com. In Japan they have a really strong following ever since their debut album charted there in the 90´s.Their song "Showstopper" from the Detonator album was featured in the EA Games video game NHL 2003.They have done several headline tours and also shared stages and tours with bands such as Magnum, Nazareth, Oliver/Dawson Saxon, Michael Schenker Group, Pretty Maids among others.Some of the festival appearances include the major Sweden Rock Festival (attendance record+ named “best band of the festival” by UK Magazine Powerplay), Firefest (England), Rock Over Munich (Germany), Hard Rock Hell (Spain) and Stockholm Rock Out. When this is written, July 2013, the next one is Skogsröjet in Sweden July 26/27, where the band play the main stage joining the headliners Twisted Sister and Helloween a.o.The band signed with the US-based Respectable Artists Management in July 2013.

"No.1" is the debut album by Swedish melodic hard rock band "M.ill.ion" originally released in 1992.Having established a firm presence in melodic hard rock over the past five years, the story of "M.ill.ion" goes actually back to the late 80's at which point they were a more glamorous outfit still just as melodic and hard rocking. The line up features lead singer Hasse Johansson, guitarists CT Rohdell and Stefan Wetterlind, bassist BJ Laneby, keyboardist Markus Ydkvist and drummer Roland Christoffersson.The sound of "M.ill.ion" is built on bombastic guitars, melodic keyboards, big drumming and dynamic choruses. I would say that "No.1" draws elements from both the American and European school of melodic hard rock/glam metal sounding very much like a mixture of "Bangalore Choir" and "Europe". One also has to address that "No.1" is a totally uncompromised hard rock record with no shortage of guitar shredding/solos and drum fills (which would often be reduced on albums of that period).It is also important to note that the quality of "No.1" does not slip at any of its 12 songs, all having memorable choruses and infectious opening melodies. Personal favorites include the classic `Sign of Victory', "Lovers", "Live it or leave it" and "Hold me, touch me". Overall the "M.ill.ion" debut is a great choice for fans of "Europe", "Bangalore Choir", "Lion" and "Lionsheart".M.ill.ion was formed like this: After an exciting visit to London and it's Rock 'n' Roll world, bassist B.J. Laneby returned to Sweden with a decision that it's time to form a new band, with the ambition to make it beyond local stardom. The eventually established band formed its own Million Music label and started rehearsing like nuts! Record deal offers were on the way, leading the band to a contract with Danish independent Bums label. It was time for the act's debut to be recorded in Denmark, additionally mixed in the world famous PUK Studios (Gary Moore, Judas Priest). Let there be… No.1!M.ill.ion hit with full force, no doubt! In the vein of all-eras Europe, early Talisman and with keyboard additions like Narnia at times, this Swedish band really presents full dynamite, a perfect example of Swedish Hard Rock.
