Bio:

The Scream was a Los Angeles-based hard rock band formed in 1989 as Saints Or Sinners. The band originally featured former Angora singer John Corabi and former Racer X members guitarist Bruce Bouillet, bassist Juan Alderete, and drummer Scott Travis. However, Scott Travis quickly left to join Judas Priest, and was replaced by former Shark Island drummer Walt Woodward III. Scott Travis co-wrote "I Don't Care" on Let It Scream, though he didn't actually play on the album. They changed their name from Saints Or Sinners to The Scream shortly after Walt Woodward III replaced Scott Travis. Many of the songs on their 1991 debut Let It Scream were performed by the band in concert before the album was ever recorded. After releasing their 1991 debut Let It Scream on Hollywood Records, which included the single "I Believe in Me," Corabi left the band to replace the recently departed Vince Neil in Mötley Crüe. The Scream then recruited former Dashboard Mary singer Billy Fogarty and recorded their second album, Takin' It To The Next Level, but were dropped from the record label before the album could be released. The Scream split up and Fogarty, Bouillet and Alderete went on to form a brief musical project with John Moore and drummer Abe Laboriel, Jr. called DC-10, which recorded and released the album Co-Burn.John Corabi joined Mötley Crüe after Vince Neil's departure and recorded the self-titled 1994 album with the band. However, poor sales and inadequate tour support resulted in Vince Neil's return to the band. Corabi has played in many bands since, including Ratt, Union and E.S.P., a covers band with other big names Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick, Chuck Garrick and Karl Cochran (often performing many songs from the various members well known bands). Since February 2015, John has joined The Dead Daisies with which he has recorded 2 studio albums (Revolución in 2015, and Make Some Noise in 2016).Walt Woodward III died on June 8, 2010 of alcohol poisoning.

Album:

Here's the only available remastered reissue version of "Let It Scream", the sole album by American rockers THE SCREAM including great vocalist John Corabi (currently in The Dead Daisies) recorded before he joined Motley Crue.Originally operating under the name 'Saints Or Sinners', the band played the Californian club circuit with success and were signed by Hollywood Records releasing their debut "Let It Scream" in 1991.The band was founded at the end of the '80s by ex- Racer X members Bruce Bouillet and John Alderete. Know for their virtuosity as players, expect top musicianship on "Let It Scream".However, the aim with this band was to create polished US hard rock with the catchiness of the genre around 1990 plus the accessibility of Cinderella, Aerosmith, Tesla, etc.I just can't get enough of this album, it rocks from the start with the outrageous rollicking 'Outlaw', which really sounds like an offcut from Cinderella's debut LP 'Night Songs'. A killer track and a perfect lead-in.'Believe In Me' slides into commercial hard rock mode with ease, a breezy Californian party anthem from the era of big hair and loud clothes.'Man In The Moon' sees the band introducing acoustic elements into their material. A common theme back in the 1989-1991 era where every up and coming rock band wanted to be cowboys. For something different, 'Father, Mother, Son' ventures into mellow ballad territory, treading the AOR borderline carefully.Bruce Bouillet is the star of show on 'Give It Up', with his guitar antics including lapsteel, there for all to see. Corabi is also effective, vocally borrowing heavily from Tom Keifer and Steven Tyler.Going completely off the grid, is the cowpoke meets blues of 'Never Loved Her Anyway', played in a very traditional sense. No real electrics here, and certainly cool - in an unplugged way.Gotta love the funked up 'Tell Me Why', complete with flared trousers and high-heeled boots. By this stage of the album, The Scream could not be accused of being one-dimensional for sure.'Love's Got A Hold On Me' is catchy and melodic, where New England / Alcatrazz stalwart Jimmy Waldo puts his keyboard magic as guest.'I Don't Care' is one of two longer tracks at over 8 minutes. This one revives Kiss at their most anthemic, with growling riffs and staunch lyrics. The Scream return to their templated trademark with the infectious 'Every Inch A Woman'. Bouillet sets the tone with some fantastic bluesy riffing, the chorus straight out of the Aerosmith song-book.'You Are All I Need' the big team-effort power ballad on the album, with contributions from Jeff Martin and Ray Gillen on backing vocals, plus the aforementioned Jimmy Waldo. It's the equivalent of a 'God Gave Rock N Roll To You' moment on the album. The track 'Catch Me If You Can' is a bluesy steam-train finale, which captures Van Halen's energy and in an up-tempo delivery. As good as "Let It Scream" is, unfortunately arrived two years too late. If it had been released in 1989, it could've done great things omparable to other bands of that wonderful year. This includes Skid Row, Warrant and Extreme; all break-out bands from 1989."Let It Scream" remained deleted for many years, with used copies very expensive at auction sites. This is the only remaster available done by Spitfire Records some time ago, also out of print now.Seems Rock Candy Records will reissue the album soon, meanwhile enjoy this fine remaster from this stupendous, varied album.

Album:

Now Rock Candy Records not only did their own fresh 2018 remaster work, but also made the album "Let It Scream [Rock Candy remaster +6]" available again after many time out of print, and with the addition of 6 bonus tracks. This is a really welcomed reissue of this, The Scream's only album "Let It Scream", a record that flew under the radar when it was first released, but has subsequently become one of the most respected and revered releases from the early '90s.It represented a high point for blistering blues-based hard rock, akin Badlands (Ray Gillen guest backing vocals), Cinderella, Aerosmith, etc. But as we know, grunge engulfed them and others but at least they didn't go down without a fight."Let It Scream" was recorded in L.A., the result of an experienced line up that featured former members of Racer X and Americade, fronted by former Angora singer John Corabi. The band attracted the interest of a few labels and eventually signed with the newly-formed Hollywood Records (funded by Disney).Produced by industry legend Eddie Kramer (Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Fastway) and originally issued in 1991, the album is a riot of riffs and thrills, with Corabi surrounded by the sort of thunderous mayhem that wouldn't sound out of place on an Aerosmith, Cinderella or Skid Row record.Although the album failed to sell well it did turn heads, not least of all Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe who, the very day that Vince Neil had left the band, placed a fateful call to Corabi encouraging him to audition as his replacement. Not unexpectedly he accepted the offer, leaving behind an impressive legacy before moving on to other projects, and eventually to join the The Dead Daisies where he currently sings. As bonus tracks we have a bunch of live tracks recorded at The Marquee Club in LA, the last show The Scream ever played prior to Corabi joining Motley Crue. These songs were put on CDr & released by Corabi himself via his website years ago (500 copies only), and the sound quality is very good. This Rock Candy remastering job is more punchy than the previously featured at 0dayrox, yet not saturated which is really welcomed to appreciate "Let It Scream" varied atmospheres.

Album:

Founded by guitarist Bruce Bouillet, bass player John Alderete and vocalist John Corabi, short-lived band THE SCREAM was a great band for sure plenty of groove, energy, soul and heavy guitars. When Corabi was asked to replace Vince Neil in Motley Crue, they hooked up with another equally as scary vocalist Billy Fogarty and recorded “Takin’ It To The Next Level” which, unfortunately, never got released because of a few Spinal Tap-ish record industry moves. It was 1993, and the music style into “Takin’ It To The Next Level” wasn’t the hot cake anymore.Additionally, on this record THE SCREAM experimented a little with other sounds as well, like funk, rap-metal, etc, mixed with their traditional hard rock style.“Takin’ It To The Next Level” is professionally recorded & produced album, and while there’s copies circulating among fans and collectors, our sounds better and includes extra tracks.

Line-Up:
