Bio:

Early 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden, four young and aspiring musicians got together to form a band. With a want for something majestic and a fascination for egyptian history Rob Love Magnusson(guitar), George Egg(drums), Joel Fox apelgren(bass) and John Berg(guitar) took on the name of Dynazty.Lacking a singer the four-piece went on a massive manhunt, ultimately finding Nils Molin through an ad via the myspace community. A sound began to establish as songs were written and the completed line-up decided there was no time to fool around. Financing the recording of a full-length album themselves was the only right thing to do and thus the Polar studios and producer Chris Laney was booked for the fall of 2008.Recording and mixing of the yet untitled album was finished in november and in January of 2009 Dynazty signed a license deal with american label Perris Records for a release in june.Bring The Thunder as the modestly debut album was titled, was recieved well by critics, praising the bands retro-sound and overall playing ability. But due to the lack of promotion and availabilty in Sweden, home country of Dynazty, the album and the band was never really recognised in swedish media.Nonetheless in october the same year, Dynazty embarked on a european tour to promote the album, supporting swedish hardrockers The Poodles. But before the tour started John Berg decided to leave the band to pursue other musical directions and was temporarily replaced by guitar player Mano Lewys. As 2010 commenced the now four-piece felt the need to write new material and finding a record label that could support the release of a new album properly. After long negotiations the band finally signed with swedish/american label Stormvox records, owned by the infamous swedish actor Peter Stormare. Writing the new album took up most of the year and finally in january of 2011 the swedish dynasty flew over the atlantic ocean to record in Los Angeles, California. Before the release of "Knock You Down" as the follow up to "Bring The Thunder" was named, Dynazty was privilaged to make a guest appearence in the swedish finale of the Eurovision Song Contest in front of approximately 3,7 million viewers performing a cover version of last years swedish winner song, "This Is My Life". The song became a minor hit in sweden and established Dynazty as a force to be reckoned with within the music business. When "Knock You Down" was finally released in April it climbed to #1 on the swedish metal charts and to #21 on the mainstream charts. Dynazty toured Sweden in support of the album throughout the summer and in the fall the same year they toured the UK together with Electric boys and Miss Behavior among others. While Dynazty was officially a four-piece, Mano Lewys had been their second guitar player ever since 2009 acting as a hired gun. But before the UK tour commenced Mano had decided to quit his post and focus on his personal life. So the band said a freindly goodbye to a long time freind and started looking for a replacement. Long time freind and even in-law reletive of Rob Love Magnusson, Mike Laver was brought in to help out on the UK tour. Back in Sweden after the tour Dynazty felt a need to once and for all complete the line-up and make it a five-piece again. And if there was someone the band wanted more than any other guitarist, and had proven he was up for the task it was Mike. My saying yes when asked, Mike completed the line-up.During the late summer and fall, the band had written material for a new album. Eager to release an album in early 2012 the five-piece started the search for a producer and a studio. Wanting a change in sound the band visited Peter "Pain" Tägtgren in his studio The Abyss discussing the possibility of working together. After much e-mailing and schedule arrangements the studio was booked for Dynazty in december.Right around this time it was also made official that Dynazty was to compete in the swedish preliminary of the Eurovison Song Contest in february 2012 with the song "Land Of Broken Dreams". "An honor and an offer that could not be refused" the boys said. When december commenced Dynazty was recording their third album, their second in one year in The Abyss studios with producer Peter Tägren at the helm and the first with Mike Laver on guitars. The upcoming album entitled "Sultans Of Sin" will hit the shelfs and servers in February 29:th 2012 and as Nils Molin, Rob Love Magnusson, Joel Fox Apelgren, George Egg and Mike Laver rushes into the new year with a spanish tour in january I can only rest my case and say:This is just the beginning....

Album:

Bring the Thunder is the debut album from Swedish rock band Dynazty.Dynazty is yet another up and coming band bursting out of Sweden. They could be called somewhat of an ‘all-star band’ as it is mainly a joint venture of two former bands, Sharp and Foxey. These guys have only been around for about a year and are already releasing their debut, appropriately titled Bring The Thunder. Outta Sweden the world got to hear quite a few ‘modern sleaze’ classics in recent years such as Crashdiet‘s Rest In Sleaze, Crazy Lixx‘s Loud Minority and Gemini Five‘s Sex, Drugs & Anarchy, and therefore one is compelled to compare Bring The Thunder to the aforementioned albums.Sound wise Dynazty would be positioned somewhere in between Crashdiet and Crazy Lixx, melding the heaviness of Slave To The Grind era Skid Row with huge choruses from Whitesnake or Bon Jovi. While I think the title-track and opener lacks a certain something, what follows next is simply amazing. “Catch The Night” is an 80’s rocker with just the right amount of sleaze to potentially put it in every Sleaze Roxx reader’s year end list. “Lights Out (In Candyland)” continues in the same vein before the ballad “Far Away”, shows that Dynazty also know how to write an impressive little epic. After that song guitarists Rob Love and John Berg get lots of opportunities to shred away, literally pulling riffs out of their sleeves. Highlights in the second half of the disc for me are the brilliant “Adrenaline” and the moody “Take Me Down”, but I could have done without “Higher N’ Higher” and the bonus track “Sail Away”.So the question is, is Dynazty up there with Crashdiet or Crazy Lixx? The answer is probably not ‘no’, but ‘not yet’! The musical talent of these five guys is striking, there are glimpses of magic in their song-writing skills and to me it is only a matter of time until they deliver a classic album as well. Until then, Bring The Thunder is certainly a very enjoyable affair, pushed a step further by the as usual huge production courtesy of Chris Laney. This man is only involved in strong albums, so you can’t go wrong if you like any of the aforementioned bands. Support Dynazty and ‘get the thunder’!

Line Up:

Nils Molin – vocals
Rob Love – guitars and backing vocals

Album:

Knock You Down is the second album from Swedish rock band Dynazty.Album the band released after signing a contract with StormVox Records, which reached #21 on the charts Swedish.Dynasty have really hit their straps on this, their second full length album. With a slick and polished production that never detracts from the raw ROCK-ness of the songs, “Knock you Down” shows that these Swedes are here for the long haul. The big winner here, alongside the excellent production, is the songs – melodic, meaty, anthemic, hummable. Killers like ‘Hunger For Love’, ‘Get It On’ and ‘Throne Of China’ don’t come along every day!Rob love’s guitar work is sinewy and muscular, and this boy must have got very sore fingers recording this album because his solos simply shred so hard. Joel Fox and George Egg’s rhythm section is full of groove and power, and never misses a trick. Nils Molin is a singer from the Joe Lynn Turner school – clear and full throated, his vocals deliver memorable melody after memorable melody, and when fully assembled Dynazty can give any other melodic hard rock band a solid run for their money.Definitely a keeper!

Line Up:

Nils Molin - Vocals
Georg Härnsten - Drums
Joel Apelgren - Bass
Rob Magnusson - Guitar

+

Mano Lewys - Guitar (Live)

08. Knock You Down

10. Wild Nights
11. The Great Delusion

Album:

After two studio albums DYNAZTY provides another taste of their Rock N' Roll crown. I really enjoyed their breaking debut album, "Bring the Thunder", and I declared it as one of the greatest albums of 2009. Although their second album supplied the same attitude as the previous, I felt that it went to a more commercialized angle and the power that was inflicted by the debut was missed. After they toured Europe, and armed with a new promising guitar player, the Swedish Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band is back. The party begins with a headbanging track under the title of "Come Alive". I found it very strong and fast with a catchy chorus consisting of heavy rhythm guitars. In the beginning of the track you will definitely hear the guitars cracking your soul and those continue rumbling again in the solo section. The next track "Raise Your Hands" reminded me little bit of the GOTTHARD song "Lift U Up" for its drumming but DYNAZTY did that with more balls of steel, especially when hearing the crowd effect in the background. The Eurovision avenue isn't my cup of Jack Daniels, but when DYNAZTY decided to participate on their second time, so I guess that it's a good reason to watch it. They brought an absolutely commercial song "Land Of Broken Dreams", very rocking. The modulation in the end is in the right place. I also liked how they built the song from the softer part to the fiercer one; you can see it, for example, where only the bass is placed on the first verse and right after all the instruments. I must mention the amazing work that was done with the keyboards as those filled the song in the right places while not taking over of the whole thing."More Than a Man" was not my favorite track but I liked it for the drum work of George Egg that played the right tunes and turned the listening into an unbelievable experience. "Love Junky" is the best example to show DYNAZTY's knowledge of the Rock N' Roll business with classy heavy song, nice guitar melodies on through the choruses by Rob Love that from time to time reminded me an hybridization between John Sykes to Vito Bratta & Zakk wylde. This is their best song in my opinion - it has everything in it: energy, melodies, very driving with a strong chorus that sticks. The album harbors two ballads that are pretty good. Their second ballad "Back Again" made quite impression on me, also in front of the other songs, even though I still remember their tearing apart cover for the song "This Is My Life", which is by far one of the greatest ballads and performance that I've ever heard in my life. The lyrics on "Back Again" are so deeply true. This ballad brings out their emotional side beside the rocking edge but even when the elasticity is so calming, DYNAZTY kicks ass with a minor heavier section that revealed sharp teeth. I must remark on the great cooperation between Rob Love and Mike Lavér in the song "Bastards Of Rock N' Roll". It is amazing how each of them completes the other and reminds of the shred guitar work back in the 80s when the lead guitar had a meaning and presentation."Sultans of Sin" is the closing tune. It also has a staggering video clip. The song retell the kind of Zakk Wylde patterned riffing with it heaviness. Nils Molin, the lead singer, takes this song to a different level with his tough singing. This dude is one of the greatest singers out there nowadays. With his wide range he makes the listening experience very pleasant. The album is very fitting to the present by its production, which is not a weak point. If you think that you will miss the old Glam Metal motives you are definitely wrong. This is a 24 % pure carat of 80s metal. For DYNAZTY it is only a matter of time until they will conquer the world.

Album:

“Renatus” is the Latin word for reborn or rebirth, a very well chosen title for the Fourth record by Sweden’s DYNAZTY, because it’s indeed a new start for this interesting band even if I had perceived this Power Metal animal asleep in the Sleazy Metal outfit for a long time. When their first album “Bring The Thunder” was published in 2009 thru Perris Records, I had already identified a certain je ne sais quoi, that made me say that the group was more than another gang of peroxide Headbangers in spandex, I stated, in my review at the time, that Nils Molin’s voice reminded me a young James LaBrie (WINTER ROSE era), I saw in them something more ambitious than just Hair & Sleaze Metal… STEELHEART meets SWEDISH EROTICA with a European feel… A real Melodic Metal potential with class. Their second and third album, were quite good and I praised their qualities everywhere but it was clearly set in a anthemic side of Hard Rock / Euro Metal, which is of course great, nonetheless now they are back, with a new recruited fierce line up for their most controversial album in order to prove that they aren’t a one dimension act.Indeed, most of the observers, followers and formers only had saw them just as a CRASHDIET / CRAZY LIXX clone, and now all of sudden, they perceived DYNAZTY as the natural son of NOCTURNAL RITES / DREAM EVIL and LAST TRIBE, it’s a valid analysis but in fact it's the same band, they just unleashed their hidden instinct and break the tradition rules, this music was already present in their DNA, like a virus in full mutation mode-a disease spread over the Swedish spring water for 30 years now. So, I’m not in agreement with those who states that “Renatus” is a radical change of musical direction, it’s certainly harder than before and by far their most heaviest work to date, but they didn’t betrayed anything or anyone, it’s for me a natural progression to something more elaborated and most of all the album is pretty Amazing and still very melodic, DYNAZTY on the other hand, is thrilling and exalting. In fact, their melodic side is as prominent as it ever was, only exposed under a different lightning and expended by a new alloy, still magnetic especially with cuts like “Dawn Of Your Creation”, “Runamok” and the first single “Starlight” which are all very catchy and infectious as their past hit "Lands Of Broken Dreams" or "Top Of The Line". Some songs like the fast paced “Cross The Line”, “Unholy Deterrent”, “Incarnation“, the hammering “Sunrise In Hell” or the more progressive and epic “Salvation”, may take a bit longer to grab your mind, but that’s also a real strong asset for this album…Everything isn’t easy to catch at first because of its obvious density. Other good virtue of “Renatus”: an immense variety in the tempos and in the ambiances, enhanced with Keyboards layers set in a modern approach and a damn efficient sonic rendition provided by Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY / CIVIL WAR / STEEL ATTACK / THE UNGUIDED) to give full justice to the new pounding rhythmic section. The original members performance are also in a full shining mode, of course Nils Molin still possess a powerful and unique voice, with a good vibrato and an impressive range with an ability in reaching each and every high note with ease. Guitar wizards Rob Love Magnusson and Mike Lavér provides some impressive solos, harmonized & lead duels wrapped in a big fat tone. Their guitar work is stellar, stretched until to compete with the highest level of the most reputed virtuoso Swedish players, this elements is the icing on the cake, adding the final touch to the already terrific bands specificities. To conclude this album the last cut “Divine Comedy” contains some new vocal elements courtesy of Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY / PAIN) in a new duality with the high pitched screams of Molin, another cleverly crafted track with a great chorus like MIDNIGHT SUN meets PERSUADER meets H.E.A.T.The Japanese bonus track for the Shm-CD edition is the best way to achieve the determination of the DYNAZTY’s message, the new updated re-recorded under a testosterone rush version of their signature song “Bring The Thunder” is a clear manifesto for their new vision and for their freedom to evolve… The Future is promising but the present is even more exciting.

Album:

At long last, DYNAZTY reveal their anticipated fifth album,“Titanic Mass”, set for international release on April 15th via Spinefarm Records. Hailing from the lively hard rock scene of Stockholm, Sweden, Dynazty are a prime example of forward-thinking and evolutionary sound development.Having reached its current formation in 2008, early on, the band’s sound was strictly within the hard rock characteristic of Sweden’s proud and successful tradition of Europe, Treat and the like, culminating with the nationwide Melodifestivalen hit “Land of Broken Hearts” (off their 3rd full-length “Sultans Of Sin”) in 2012.However, it was with the Spinefarm-released album “Renatus” (2013) where Dynazty truly came to their own. Opting for a sound more modern, more defined and more addictive, “Renatus” saw the band take a leap towards a tighter sound with an arsenal of rapid rhythm patters and machine-gun riffs, ever-present soaring vocals plus huge, addictive choruses. Coated with massive arrangements, “Renatus” was an exceptional album. Now, “Titanic Mass” sees the Swedes take the next logical step in the never-ending flux that is their sound. This time choosing to maintain the overall bite and tightness of “Renatus” and taking a courteous nod in the direction of power metal and, finally, adding a symphonic element – yes, the arrangements are TITANIC this time – the band has succeeded in making the songs, if possible, yet another notch more addictive than before. Graced with the edgy, yet massive production of the overlord of all things metal, Peter Tägtgren (Sabaton, Pain, Dimmu Borgir etc ad infinitum), “Titanic Mass” is Dynazty’s ultimate statement to date.Quoth the band: “‘Titanic Mass’ is the culmination of all the knowledge we’ve learned and all the experience we’ve gained over the years writing songs and making albums. Our efforts combined with the mastery of producer Peter Tägtgren has resulted in an album that we feel is really strong. To us, ‘Titanic Mass’ is without a doubt our ultimate effort.”The April 15th album release (cd, digital) will be preceded by the release of iTunes Grat Track, hard-hitting “Roar Of The Underdog” on February 12th, when the pre-ordering of the album will also commence. The 1st single “The Human Paradox”, accompanied by a video directed by Tage Rönnqvist (Swallow The Sun, Santa Cruz etc.) will rock your socks off on March 18th.

Album:

Sweden's modern melodic metal outfit Dynazty return with their strongest effort so far. "Firesign" is the band's most creative, dynamic and inspired album yet. The Swedes add a pinch of hardness, but also have innovative influences and don't lose sight to their catchy melodies. After "Titanic Mass", which is a chunk of an album and is produced by Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain), its successor "Firesign" is the only logical step in the evolution of Dynazty, if the next goal is taking the rock throne. As I have said many times, what I love perhaps most of all is heavy metal combined with big pop hooks. That combination hits at every part of who I am as a music fan, and it is done well so rarely, so I try to hang on dearly every time I come across a good record. That is why Dynazty is a bit odd. Their last two albums have hit the right balance, and I have enjoyed them, yet they haven't stuck with me the same way my favorites do. I still play Bloodbound's "Tabula Rasa" at least bi-monthly, and James LaBrie's "Impermanent Resonance" hits me every time I hear it. Dynazty hasn't done that for me yet. I always hold out hope that it will happen the next time, which just so happens to be now.Listening to "Firesign", it sounds like an album I should absolutely love. "The Grey" is a song that builds up to a chorus with a strong melody and stop-start guitars that have a simple hook to them as well. That is the kind of little thing that makes it harder to forget a song. You can take all the technical runs of notes the most talented players can muster, and none of them mean anything. But if you can play two notes that have a groove you can hum along with, you've figured out what writing songs is all about.Dynazty can't resist throwing some extra cheese into a style of metal that often gets portrayed that way regardless. The title track, as well as a couple of other spots, are dotted with strongly digital synth tones. How seriously you take your metal will probably determine whether or not you enjoy those aspects. For me, they don't last long very long, so I have no problem with them trying to add color to the songs. This wouldn't be the right music for them to go all-in on "Follow The Reaper" era Children Of Bodom synths, but as minor details they work. The issue that crops up is the nature of pop music. Everyone tends to have an idea of what pop melodies are supposed to sound like (myself included), which can be so limiting that the songs you create off that template can be too similar. There have been a few bands this year I have mentioned having songs that felt too similar to songs from their own recent past. With Dynazty, there are a couple of melodies just within this album that are rather close to one another. I think perhaps the target they were shooting for was not quite wide enough. But don't let that distract from the main point here, which is that "Firesign" is a solid album of catchy melodic metal. If you've heard any of the singles that were put out, you will know what the rest of the album has to offer. There isn't a lot in the way of diversity here, but what's done is done well. Dynazty has a signature sound they are mining, and they are merely refining that sound to create albums that deliver heavy guitars and catchy vocals. I can't blame them for doing what works. So my takeaway from "Firesign" is pretty much the same as it was when I was listening to their previous album, "Titanic Mass". Dynazty doesn't quite hit the highs of my favorites from the style, but they do a good job of delivering songs that deliver on all the aspects of metal I love. That makes it an easy recommendation.

Formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 2008, Dynazty has released 6 albums in a mere 10 years time so far. Straying from its early days of 80s influenced hard rock, the band has developed and refined its sound into something that merges the modern metal scene with the past, crafting something wholly unique. Today the band is comprised of highly respected and sought after musicians, active on the metal scene in more than one way. Bassist Jonathan Olsson can also be seen in both Lindemann and Pain, while guitarist Love Magnusson and drummer Georg Härnsten Egg frequently tour with rock legends such as Dee Snider and Joe Lynn Turner.

Album:

After the success of "The Dark Delight" - streamed over 25 million times and charting high in countries all over Europe, peaking at #2 in home country Sweden and at #3 on neighbour Finland's physical album charts - Swedish melodic metal band Dynazty now returns with a new album titled "Final Advent".Singer Nils Molin: "When the Covid-19 pandemic stopped us from touring on 'The Dark Delight', we decided to shift our focus and instead set out to make the most cohesive and definitive album and version of ourselves yet. Game plan: no filler, all killer. And in my opinion we hit home and knocked it out of the park with this one. It's our most intense album thus far and without doubt carrying some of the strongest songs we've ever written. And to top things off, the performances from the whole band are next level. I couldn't be happier about the work done! 'Final Advent' is the ultimate form, the ultimate version of Dynazty."
