JD Miller is a swedish rock out who started out in late 2010. Tommy Timonen (guitar) and Peter Halldén (vocals) started the band after Tommy decided to drop out of his former band State of Drama. The reason for the drop out being that the music genre of State of Drama were drifting more towards Pop than Rock. Peter who were playing shows as a local rock dj at the time contacted Tommy and proposed the joined venture of a rock band. Tommy asked what Peter would do in the band, because Tommy knew that he had never played in a band before, and Peter replied... SING! Tommy was not real sure were this was going at the time. But after a recording session that was to become the debut single Devil's Vengeance there was no doubt anymore...To get a full band Mikael "Bille" Bielinski, a bass player in the swedish act Egonaut and Sebastian Hallifax, drummer in State of Drama, joined the band as a side project from their main focuses. To get a feel of each others playing together JD Miller played a couple of cover gigs in Borås joined by Peter's brother Viktor who played guitar and some vocals during these gigs. Viktor is the person responsible for our Band name which has no reference what so ever to Jack Daniel's and Miller beer... Can I get a cliché.In the early 2011 JD Miller released their debut single "Devil's Vengeance" and it got a great reception on the local scene. Sebastian and Bille were both part of the recording part and Sebastian also mixed and mastered the song.During the work of the release of Devils it became clear that neither Bille or Sebastian would be able to continue in the band due too their previous engagements with Egonaut and State of Drama so Tommy and Peter started a search for a Drummer, a bass player and also another guitarist because they felt that the band were lacking a bit of "more" in that department.During the late summer of 2011 Jakob Larsson (rhythm guitar) who is also currently playing with Natalie Haugen and the Woodlands, Emil Eriksson (drums) a power metal freak and Freddy "Old School" Zielinski (Bass) joined JD Miller and completed the line-up that the band consist of today.During the rest of 2011 we rehearsed and wrote songs to take out on the road and we also decided to record a couple of the songs during the winter of 2012 in what was to become our debut EP "Bones". Doing the entire recording process ourselves in a small studio, between our day jobs and with the aid of a few good people the EP got released in february of 2013 and it received a great reception on the scene. All the art work, web sites, mixing and mastering were made by the band during 2012. A lot of ups and downs in the process but well worth it in the end. Not to forget all the shows we played in between, mainly in venues in Gothenburg.In 2013 the band have continued writing songs and played a lot of great shows. Especially the gig in Borås at Sommartorsdagarna was a great experience which we have received great reviews for. In august we released our first video of our single "Vision of Sin" and the single was also released on Spotify, iTunes etc. During the fall we are working on our debut album to be released during 2014.On the 6th of december JD Miller signed a deal with Rambo Music/Gain Production, a subsidiary to Sony Music.

The wait is over...album released on May 10, 2024.JD Miller is finally ready to release its fourth studio album, titled “Empyrean”.After hitting the airwaves with singles such as “Inside the Night”, “Enemy” or “Out Of Control”, the stakes are high for the Swedish four-piece. But, then again, JD Miller has always been on top of their game – and it’s no different in “Empyrean”. In fact, quite the contrary.With guitar player Tommy Timonen (ex-State Of Drama) back in the lineup and Jonny Trobo (Hydra, ex-First Signal) as a permanent new bassist, the foursome from Borås spread their sound, to a heavier sound scope (just listening to the opening track “The Butterfly” and you’ll get a view of the heaviest JD Miller ever), but also more accessible, modern tracks such as “Out Of Control” or “Alive”.“Empyrean” is a ride that totally justifies the ”Heaviest AOR around” proclamation done by Sweden Rock Magazine, with a twist. JD Miller is now a mature band, keeping however the fresh approach to composition and lyrics. “The songs and album focuses on a story about the complex minds of people considered to be at the wrong side of the law in the universe”, the band states.“The story is accompanied by the music we love in JD Miller, drawing influences from hard rock, metal, AOR and anything that’s get’s us going melodically”.The album was mixed and mastered by Mikael Andersson at MRG Production/Studio Soundport, in Sweden, to give it the extra punchy in sound that the melodies require, making “Empyrean” the dark horse of 2024, no matter what angle you look at it: hard rock, metal, AOR or whatever.
