A five piece band from Athens Greece.Smokin Dame are driven by heavy riffs,punchy drums, technical vocals and groovy bass. Some times in fast punk/rockabilly pace, some times in slow hammering beats.The band is about to release their debut album “Revelations From a Gun".

Based in the capital city, Smokin Dame is a new band that claims its place in the hard rock scene and they introduce themselves through their debut album "Revelations From A Gun", which will be officially released on February 25th.The recording and production of their first album was done in collaboration with Fotis Benardo and Devasoundz Studios. Authentic hard rock of the old and beloved school with powerful catchy riffs, obvious talent in composition and technique and excellent vocals in an explosive ensemble.The album starts off impressively and gets straight into the "roast" of their style with the composition of "Dope N' Roll", which is essentially what the title describes. Groovy and aggressive hard rock sound that immediately rouses the listener, with admittedly very fitting and technically flawless vocals by vocalist Konstantinos Merakos. The guitars of Chris Antoniou and Fotis Moulas star in a rhythmic heavy metal frenzy, while even the short acoustic bridge just before the final part of the track, gives a nice extra to the atmosphere."Day Of The Living Dead" and "Electric Fire" continue in a similar pattern, in which solos and interesting guitar and vocal variations are featured, creating an influential concert atmosphere.The intensity is somewhat relaxed in "Brain Dead", without however decreasing, with more stoner and alternative metal elements, equally enjoyable and more melodic vocals in the couplets, while the varied guitar parts give the technical and dynamic edge. A satisfying and technically sound composition.Dynamic and rhythmic and the following "Rain Dance" continues to maintain the electrifying atmosphere of the album, subtly evoking headbanging (as the rest of the album certainly does).Old time classic heavy metal sound on "Blood For Blood" as well. Fanis Despinis' drums give it their all here too, along with the non-stop, powerful riffs, and we also get a showcase of more growl vocals. In phase what else can we ask from this voice, it has it all.On the occasion of the next and epic heavy metal creation "No Man's Land" I want to make a notable mention of Smokin Dame's lyrics somewhere here. The subject matter is basically social with an expression of inner anxiety, delivered without complexity, but quite well written and with substance. The track easily one of the best.The last two tracks "U Turn" and "Escape Into Space" continue dynamically with undiminished intensity and virtuosity, ending in a closing that doesn't leave anyone out of the hype.Very digestible and well crafted album, influential concert atmosphere, excellent instrumental and vocal technique, good lyrics and a flow that doesn't let you get bored within the faithful hard rock motif that characterizes it.I found no weak points, I have nothing to say in which Smokin Dame may be lacking, far from it, the listen was easily enjoyable.This is definitely a promising band that reinforces our hope and faith in the local metal scene and sets the bar high for their personal path in the industry. We for our part wish and expect the best.
