The band has since re-formed with line-up changes, but no new releases have been put out as of yet.

Album:

Great MELODIC METAL/HARD ROCK album from this increible GERMAN ROCKS BAND. If you like the 80s you will love this album(even if this came out back in 91).The one or the other is already familiar to the guitarist Rüdiger Fleck from my review of Rawhead Rexx, so he can really imagine what he expects here for music .This is Melodic! This is power! Everything summarized in Letter X and that the guys also come from Germany makes this here again to the proof, we have also horny Mucke! If this album had been released recently and not in 1991, there would be a lot of excitement about it, but as it is, Letter X remains the same as with many other bands you've never heard of and the Melodic / Progressive Gemeine would presumably leave this way. However, Letter X's debut album "Time of the Gathering" proves to us the opposite, the small conquest of the world and nice delivery despite the fairly strong progressive sound. Singer Martin Obermeier has a very distinctly foreign position in his voice and sounds like a mixture between Bert Herrink (Vandenberg) and Don Dokken, especially when he sings the "aahhhs". The perfect team of Rüdiger Fleck and Joachim Gassmann combine a praiseworthy job, screaming guitar strings, high-flying solos, delicate acoustic strings and galloping riffs all combined where it is necessary to make it a very nutritious sound. Songs like "Time of the Gathering", "Break of Dawn" show us the perfect balance between these three elements. The chorus have a strong feeling, while it is musically very leaning towards the Melodic Progressive with a shot more power. Songs like "Verdict", "Unknown Heroes" or "Deep in the Night" really open the melodic side of the band with a great Melodicrock chorus that just screams "repeat me". Continuing with very difficult guitar rhythms and a crispy pretending voice that is one of the features of this CD. It sometimes reminds me of Yngwie's "Eclipse" or melodic songs from Shy, Vengeance or Vandenberg. "Leather on Leather" has something of Manowar in the sense of motorcycles and hot women who burn down the highway like a wild animal on steel. The deep melodic train and unusual drumming mix, which is just right there, makes lots of joy at listening. "Making My Way to the Light" has the anger of melodic-progressive speed-metal. The showcase song of this album is definitely the driving ballad "Princess of the Dark" very unfamiliar, yet passionate sounds and lyrics. For the most part voiced support with piano and violins and a lot of electric satellites with addition of some drama through the chorus, the ballad is only the focal point of this album. Crispy pure voice directs this song about the destiny to find the way to love in a bar, which is very explained in the first verse. The rest of the lyrics flows quite magically. The rest of the songs are about to be fair, mostly very speedy, and some have a light touch Powermetal to give the tone a bit of edge. Letter X, Time of the Gathering "is a balanced, beautifully flowing attempt by a small, unknown band, with progressive pomp, clean melodic glory and a strong tip. If you find the album, buy it, it is really worth it!
