Serenity In Murder is a Japanese symphonic death metal band from Tokyo, Japan.They released their debut album in 2011 (available through SPIRITUAL BEAST/UNIVERSAL MUSIC). The debut album, “The First Frisson Of The World”, received positive responses from not only within Japan, but from all over the world.After many headlining tours around their home country of Japan, shows with Origin (US), Aborted (Belgium), Mors Principium Est (Finland), Lazarus A.D. (US) among others, and a headlining show in Taiwan, the band went straight back into the studio to lay down their second album "The Highest Of Dystopia", which was released March 2015."The Highest Of Dystopia" received high critical acclaim and peaked at number 13 in Japan's official independent music charts. The band continued to tour up and down Japan until entering the studio again to recording their third album.In February 2017, The Band released 3rd Full Album "THE ECLIPSE" exclusively in Japan."THE ECLIPSE" got number 47 in Japan's official major music charts and got 10 in independent music charts. Serenity In Murder issued the following update back in April: "Please welcome our new vocalist, Ayumu! She is a professional grid girl, working at many major events such as Super GT, FIA GT, Asia World Cup, SEMA Show and The Tokyo Motor Show. She is now bridging the gap from extreme sports to extreme metal and is now part of the Serenity In Murder family. We have finally began the recording process for our long awaited fourth studio album and are expecting to release it later this year."

Serenity In Murder is a melodic death metal band based out of Tokyo, Japan; and if you ask me, they are one of the best modern bands in the genre. I first caught wind of them back in 2015 with The Highest Of Dystopia, but it was with 2017's The Eclipse that they truly cemented their status as one of the best and most underrated melodeath groups around. Perhaps most akin to groups like Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium, Serenity In Murder combine memorable guitar riffs in a variety of styles alongside synth and keys for a listen that is both highly atmospheric and often quite catchy at the same time.Album Recorded at STUDIO PRISONER, Japan, 2020.
